Good Premise, Poor execution.
gothicimages19 December 2009
This film had a solid idea, one I was really excited to see: A Black Female Serial killer, preys on her roommates. The problem is they didn't build upon that premise, and instead I was very disappointed by the movie, which is filled with pointless cameos, bad acting, and a weak script.

More forethought should have been put into developing the lead characters, and more forethought should have been put into developing the plot: The Police detectives for instance are unbelievable here, and you wonder why after the first 15mins they didn't arrest the prime ( and only) suspect in the film. Never did we see the detectives come up with any new leads, any other suspects, for such heinous crimes.

The lead antagonist is also unbelievable and more wasn't done to make us understand her motivations for killing; by the time the ending comes and her motivation is reveleaed, we are left wondering "where did it come from" instead of "Why wasn't this presented sooner"?

The pace of the film is also way too long for this film, and could have used a stronger editorial hand, removing many of the pointless scenes of cameos/roommates applying. This could have been done in a montage style presentation, some of the actors / actresses in the cameos weren't strong enough in their delivery, and a simple montage would have gotten the point across, and sped up the pace of the film dramactically.

i gave the film three stars: One for the Female talent, who are all good looking, but whose acting skills leave something to be desired; One star for the nice red automobile, and the remaining star is for the strippers at the end of the second act of the movie, but I wish I could have gave it more for what I originally intended to watch it for.

NO, I MEAN I LIKE YOU

Warning: Spoilers
You know an amateur production when they make the small amateur mistakes. After the detectives examine the body of an apparent suicide, they need to go downstairs. In doing so they walk in front of the camera and block the shot with their body. Who films like that? And worse who would leave that in? Ed Wood?

Karma (Farrah Franklin) is an up and coming R&B singer haunted by her roommate's death and spends a lot of time in the shower with her back to the camera. Wesley (Charlie Adams) plays her over protective brother. Karma places an ad in the paper for another house mate. Their place is huge and roommate really doesn't fit except it sells well. The interviews she conducts has some cheesy humor to them. Should you happen to make the mistake and watch this film, I recommend making it through the interviews before you turn it off. But cheesy isn't what the writers/ producers wanted so it ends after the interview segment. The beautiful Skye (Kelle Cantwell) is selected and as it turns out Skye likes Karma more than just a friend.

It is clear in the first 10 minutes of the film the acting and dialogue kills it. The plot, wasn't half bad, but in no way can this crew make a decent film.

PARENTAL GUIDE: F-bomb, stripper nudity with lap dances.

Plagued by Too Many Irrelevant Scenes
Uriah4313 June 2022
This film essentially begins with a young black woman named "Karma" (Farrah Franklin) and her older brother "Wesley" (Charlie Adams) finding Karma's roommate dead in her apartment from an apparent suicide. The scene then shifts to approximately 3 weeks later with Karma unable to afford the rent and subsequently putting an ad in the newspaper for a new roommate. Although several people stop by to apply, Karma eventually settles on an attractive blonde named "Skye" (Kelle Cantwell) who seems the most normal of them all. Wesley, on the other hand, begins to get a strange feeling about her and even confides this to one of his trusted friends--and that's when the body count really begins to rise. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film certainly had potential but the director (Dale Stelly) seemed to lose focus rather early on as the film included too many irrelevant scenes and lacked any real suspense. Likewise, the bizarre twist at the end simply wasn't that believable either. Admittedly, the film did feature two attractive actresses in Farrah Franklin and Kelle Cantwell, but neither of them were able to overcome the obvious flaws just mentioned and I have rated this movie accordingly. Below average.

Worst movie of all time!
kdevida14 October 2010
WORST MOVIE EVER!!!! No sense, no plot, horrific acting and incredibly boring. Was a script even written for this movie? I doubt it. I don't usually write reviews, but the sheer horribleness of this "movie" has to be mentioned. It feels like your watching a really poorly acted porno from the 90s only without the sex scenes. I have seen home-made movies with better quality and acting. It's one of those movies that you'll want to fast-forward through to get to the good parts, only there are NO good parts. I watched the entire movie and wasted 80 minutes of my life... I would rather sit in LA traffic for 80 minutes than watch this movie again! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!

Disappointing Horror thriller
mrcibubur12 January 2010
I did manage to finish watching this film (just) but overall this is a disappointing film with a poor screenplay, lousy storey and even lousier acting by virtually all the male actors/actresses involved. The ending of the film is quite incredibly bad. Nothing really good to say about the movie at all except to say that if they decide to remake it, spend sometime with the actors on their acting skills. None in this movie is believable. it is not a boring film and you watch in expectation that things will get better; they do in a sense but its all in the mind, an illusion to get to the end of the film. A very poor 'take' on the highly rated Single White Female of a few years ago.

Didn't get all those people keep coming to the house door and why the room-mate had to answer the door. Maybe I have just seen too many movies lately. See this movie at your peril!

This is the worst movie of all time. Never have i seen a movie more poorly made. Very much a complete waste of time. Amateur acting and a very poor execution.
