In this episode, they talk about a man who survived the titanic, and there are no physicians or medical professionals interviewed. They claim that there is no science to why alcohol would allow a person to survive extremely cold temperatures; in fact, many of the interviewees state that intoxication makes a person more susceptible to hypothermia. This isn't true, alcohol doesn't freeze. As a nurse in the ICU, we admitted a patient that had gotten drunk and fell asleep in snow bank. The physician said the only reason he survived was because there was so much alcohol in his blood stream that it didn't freeze.
