Great acting, interesting premise, but all quite predictable even the final sequence. No jaw dropping effect like the first episodes of seasons one and two. Will want to see something very unexpected or some ingenious twist plot can evolve out of this prologue

Intriguing premier to what looks to be a very thrilling third season

Warning: Spoilers
There are few shows that manage to hold the audience's attention for almost fifty minutes. The first episode of this season did a pretty amazing job of keeping my eyes glued to the screen. All the actors were perfect. Jamie's friend, Nick was quite convincing as the creepy guy with a dark past seemingly obsessed with their history at college. Jamie Burns (Matthew Bomer) was really good in bringing out the emotional turmoil going inside the character's head. The whole eerily gothic atmosphere created by the director made me feel like I was watching a dark Phsychological thriller. Spoiler Alert: The last few minutes of this episode explain the guilt trip jamie was having after the tragic accident . The cliffhanger has nicely paved the way and set the tone for the remaining episodes which will unravel the mystery surrounding the accident.10 OUT OF 10 FROM ME.
Facing Fear

Personally I absolutely loved season three after taking quite a long break between season one and two.
I absolutely loved the cast and I engaged with them.
What I particularly liked about it was how it dealt with how people face fears. I'm personally going through a life storm at the moment and in episode six, where the two characters are about to jump off a bridge, there is a moment for me of pure clarity where all of my own fears seem to be put in perspective and I found gripping strength and not just What I particularly liked about it was how it dealt with how people face fears. After suffering loss as I'm sure most of us have, watching this episode and the two marvellous actors on that bridge whom I could just hug, seems to set me free from some limiting beliefs that I have.
I think the cast.

I Don't Get It

This is Episode One of the Third Season. Why are people writing reviews after having watched all the episodes. I'm tired of these jerks. They also give one star to a series beginning that is well acted and intense. I do realize that for some, being immediately aware that the guy is at fault and covering up, and that he is not a stellar citizen, is a problem. However, like shows, going back to Levinson and Link, the "why" is the chief problem, as our friend Columbo would have told us. How can you give a single star to an episode where at least five significant questions are already in need of answer. I will be skipping those four word "reviews" which aren't even reviews but mindless complaints. Excellent beginning.
Loved the 1st 2 seasons...

Season 1 of The Sinner was fantastic and season 2 was also really good but, as is with most anthology series (talking to you AHS), they only stay good for so long. The Sinner is no exception. Season 3 has a great cast but a convoluted story and script which follows the formula of the prior seasons... Not whodunit but WHY'd they do it. Unfortunately the mystery of why has left me on episode 6 saying I don't care who, why or how.
Season 3

This season is infuriating. The first season was excellent. The second season was good but not at the same level as season one. This season is annoying the hell out of me. I'm not going into details but Matt Bomer's character is annoying. What's with the wide eye crazy all the time? Over it.
Lacks the grip of the first episodes of seasons 1 & 2

I enjoyed season 1. Season 2 was also good. I really wanted to continue with those seasons after the first episode to find out why the characters had committed such serious crimes. I just don't feel the same about season 3.
The concept of The Sinner is fundamentally flawed. I really don't think any police department in the US would pay for an investigation into something that looked so much like an accident, or a "smoking gun" murder, for that matter. But it makes for good TV to have a detective striving to find the truth, with seemingly no other work to do!
I will persevere with season 3, but I feel far from gripped.

Dull, Dreary, and boring!

After enjoying the first two series I was looking forward to the third and the first episode had me intrigued. However, that's as good as it gets... Yep that's right the first episode Is the peak and not a very high one at that! God knows what the obsession is with modern dramas filling screen time with pointless close ups of a main characters face with no dialogue, but this season is full of it. It makes for an incredibly boring show!! I found myself finishing each episode thinking, nothing relevant happened in that. It's a wafer thin story that is excruciatingly dragged out for 8 painful episodes. I desperately waited for a shock factor or an unexpected twist that never came. The sinner series 3 limps along with zero excitement, zero comedic moments, and very boring characters. Even Ambrose is dull. Do not waste your time with this pitiful attempt at a television Show.
P.S. The woman with the paintings has no bearing at all on the storyline. So why does she get so much screen time???!!
Why the hell did he kill that Clairvoyant??! And why wasn't the audience informed of this reason!

So many shows, movies, books with this theme of bonding with others in evil endeavours in a bid for "true" freedom and facing "the void" ...sigh. yeah we know ...sadly there s enough psychos to act on it hope no one dies a horrible death because of "Jamie"

After a flawed but watchable 1 and 2. Series 3 is an absolute disaster. Written by a undergrad philosophy student with banal and contradictory monologues from thoroughly unsympathetic lead. Actually cheered when he was finally shot. Painful...to watch.
Mediocre Start To Season 3

A little vape. Some eye drops. A spray of Binaca. Thats how I love to start my day of professoring. That's for sure.
So Professor is visited by friend who he doesn't like. They share a ride home. A fatal accident kills the friend. Professor has minor wounds. Accident? Or Homicide???
Enter The Sinner! To investigate.
Haha, one woman owns all the local land where the accident occurs. The Sinner talks to her and she denies knowing them. But she asks, 'were they armed?' when she talks to him. What a giveaway question that she thinks something is amiss or is hiding something.
The end of the episode we get to see the replay of the accident and how it happened which we already knew there was a lot more to the story than the Professor confessed. 5/10.

Acting seems to be good but I can't follow it. Jamie is crazy and needs professional help. Harry needs a life. What is scary is the world is full of people just like this. Many are on death row or in criminally insane prison. Worse yet they are still loose.

Disappointing 3rd season

The first 2 seasons were quite good. Season 3 just annoyed me though. I quickly grew tired of this privileged pretty boy and his first world problems. The whole Nietzschean Superman has been done much more interestingly in movies like Rope and Compulsion. Hoping for a return to form in season 4.
The weakest season
