Music choices are amazing, and Orla's song at the beginning = amazing.

Ghostly goings on

Another good episode. "That first time" portrayed beautifully. The secrecy, feelings and emotions are summed up so well.

Episode 1.2

There is a lot of rumpy pumpy in this episode.

Very much the kind of a young couple enjoying the experience for the very first time. I think it was captured rather well on screen. Not something that is easy to do. They were both sober, it was sensitive and Marianne initiated it.

For Connell there is still a contrast of being one of the lads and being in a relation with an unpopular flat chested woman.

This is the seed of discontent that comes to the fore when Marianne is insulted by one of his friend's. Connell does nothing about it.

What Connell does not quiet appreciate that his friends would be all over her if she showed any interest in them.

Marianne might have self loathing which can be normal for teenagers. She knows what she wants and Connell so far seems unsure.

Again, perfectly good

People strongly disliked my review for the last episode, but all I can reiterate is that this is decent entertainment, but I wouldn't say it is deserving of all the hype it is receiving.

I thought this episode was perfectly fine.

honest

I suppose, the basic virtue of episode is the honest perspective about teenagers love, first time sex and vulnerability, public image in high schoool and the secret love affair.

The succes of series has as base exactly this honesty in the manner to reflect ordinary realities, lived by many of us, imagined, too.

The enthusiasm about Normal People is not so surprising. Because it represents a nice return to a perception of romance and relations and fragility of young people who can be understand, including as personal experience or, less, as figured romance out of velvet or gold or flamboyant, dramatic, impressive, gloomy frames.

It is so easy and refreshing to feel this story of Marianne and collin . In some measure, to feel it as be one of yourself.
