That Shane Meadows and Stephen Graham are giants in their respective fields is without doubt but this series and in particular this final episode is quite incredible.
Meadows has taken from his own horrific experiences and has created a hopefully cathartic piece of drama that leaves the viewer drained and exhausted.
By no means easy viewing but the acting, writing and direction are flawless and the story whilst coming from the darkest of places is uncomfortably entertaining. The finale keeps the viewer guessing right to the end and I won't spoil it for anyone here. I cannot recommend this series and episode in particular highly enough. Genius at work!
