Sex & Nudity

  • A boy's clothes is taken off and is forced into a girls locker room by other classmates. We see the boy's bare skin and we see him covering his private areas.
  • A boy makes a motion of oral sex to another boy to tease him by moving his fist back and forth in front of his mouth and putting an imprint in his cheek with his tongue.
  • A group of boys force a boy (with a knife to his neck) to perform oral sex on another boy as they photograph it. We see the boy on his knees, undoing the boy's pants. We see him in his underwear, but we cut away when he is completely naked, so no nudity is seen. We see the boy lean forward, and it is implied that he follows through with the act unwillingly. We see the face of the boy receiving the oral sex and we see his expression. It is implied that the boy finishes, and we see the boy giving the oral sex turn his head and vomit. He collapses on the ground, crying. One of the bullies jokes that "a drop fell on" him.

Violence & Gore

  • Throughout the film, teenagers harass and beat up several other teenagers. There is punching and kicking as well as various fight scenes. These can often be very intense, not in their violence, but the context in which it is placed. One fight involves a chair used as a weapon.
  • A boy vomits, but we only see a bit of it on the ground; we don't see it exiting his mouth.
  • A teenager pulls a knife on another student, eventually placing it near his throat.
  • There is a scene at the end of the film where two boys go around shooting and killing other kids in their school. They are shown carrying guns all throughout the school in a long sequence. Once people are shot, we see bloody holes in their bodies, and barely visible blood splatter in some cases. This is a terrifying sequence and will be seen as very intense to many viewers. At the very end one boy commits suicide. You only see him fall after shooting himself, but no blood is shown. The other boy stands there with his gun to his head, but we never see him pull the trigger, for the credits begin to roll.

Profanity

  • Very strong, near-constant language between teenagers.
  • A girl sticks her middle finger out at a boy in 2 instances throughout the film without a word. However, this does not have the same meaning in other countries as it does in the USA.
  • "F**k" is said around a total of 43 times.
  • "S**t" is said around a total of 5 times.
  • "Damn" is said 1 time.
  • "F*g" is said around a total of 13 times.
  • There are 4 instances of assorted religious exclamations
  • "Ass"/"Assh**e" is said around a total of 5 times.
  • "Pussy" is said around a total of 5 times.
  • "Bastard" is said around a total of 3 times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is discussion between teenagers of taking "booze" to a party, though we never see any usage of any alcohol whatsoever.
  • A teenager is shown smoking briefly in couple scenes.
  • A teenager smokes a hooka.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Although nothing is shown, the oral sex scene can be found to be very unsettling and emotionally raw.
  • The school shooting at the very end of the film is extremely intense and considerably violent.
  • A sad and realistic look in a school environment, and the consequences of bullying someone to great lengths.
  • A very intense, bleak and dark movie about extreme bullying.
