Thinking that the addition of pro football star Hunter von Leer will add ratings to his new show, station owner Max Showalter brings Von Leer on and it is soon clear that the football pro is a letch. He makes an unwanted pass at Susan (Stockard Channing) who attacks him with a cue card, and she joins forces with Brad (Ron Silver) to get him fired by introducing him to Showalter's wife, Valorie Armstrong. It's obvious where this plot is headed and how it will be resolved so it really has no surprises, just a few laughs and not much else. The laughs vanish with the appearance of security guard Alf, probably one of the unfunniest characters in TV history. I'd take 24 hours of Lenny and Squiggy and Horshack over this ridiculous excuse for a sitcom recurring character.
