This is a very chilling documentary, as you'd like to think your country wouldn't be involved in such things. The film is about the American biological and chemical weapons program that was begun around the beginning of World War II. Considering how evil and dreadful Hitler was, it's not surprising that the Allies would worry about his using them and created many chemical bombs in response to his aggression. However, the Germans were not involved in making chemical weapons. BUT, the Japanese were and they committed many, many horrible atrocities in their research--testing them out on thousands and thousands of innocent Chinese peasants. Our response was to give these perpetrators a pass when it came to the war crimes trials! The rest of the film is about the dubious work of the government from this period until Presidents Nixon and Ford agreed to a complete ban on these weapons.
Overall, a very sobering and fascinating film about a subject you just don't hear much about otherwise. Well made and well documented throughout--this will sure make you think.
