Were there perhaps a shortage of Chinese actors in Britain at the time? Is that a reason for it? Peter Sallis, who doesn't look Chinese in any way shape or form, is actually rather good here, instantly recognisable through that wonderful voice. What a long and varied career he had.
We do at least get the presence of one fine Chinese actress, Lucille Soong is delightful as Lotus.
Despite its flaws, it's a very good episode, 7/10.
