There was only episode of "The Popcorn Kid", the pilot. I have my guesses as to why the networks failed to approve this one as a series, but I strongly suspect that many of the characters in the show are the reason it failed.
The show is set at a movie theater, The Majestic. It concerns the young people that work their and they are a wacky bunch. A couple problems arise. First, a beautiful girl (Faith Ford) from the leading man's classes arrives...and she doesn't even know who he is even though she sits in front of him in two classes. Second, it looks like the owner might be making huge changes and will turn it into a multiplex.
As I mentioned above, I found several of the characters annoying. Subtle, they weren't. This combined with the laugh track really made this a difficult show to love.
