This has been a bad holiday season for untimely deaths around Hollywood, and none have been more unexpected than actress Brittany Murphy's on Sunday. Alyssa Milano, Peter Facinelli, Paris Hilton and virtually everyone else with a Twitter account associated with the entertainment industry has something to say about Murphy, and there's a rundown below.
The other big nationwide news of the past weekend has been the massive snowstorm pounding the East Coast. "Twilight" actress Christian Serratos was one of those who had her travel plans derailed by the frozen precipitation dump, on Washington, D.C. You can find those posts after jump along with Fred Durst's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" clan name and Neil Gaiman's undead lawn ornament. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for December 21, 2009. (Editor's note: You'll see some crossover between this post and our earlier Brittany Murphy tweet round-up. That's okay... this is a

Earlier today, we brought you an early edition of Twitter-Wood packed chock-full of celebrity praise for James Cameron's sci-fi epic, "Avatar." It's a much more tragic set of circumstances that brings me back to you with another Twitter-Wood early edition.
"Clueless" star Brittany Murphy left us suddenly over the weekend, the victim of a heart attack at the too-young age of 32. The breaking news resulted in an outpouring of grief and sympathy for Murphy's family from around the celebrity Twittersphere. I'll let the people who knew her take it from here...
@ParisHilton So sad to hear about Brittany Murphy, such a tragedy. She was such a beautiful, funny and sweet girl. My heart goes out to her family.

This was a rough week for memorial tweets, with Tisha Taylor Murphy and Roy Disney's passings both making headlines. More condolences showed up today for "Alien" screenwriter Dan O'Bannon and Bengals wide received Chris Henry, who both had their share of fans in our feed.
Following up on Jason Reitman's Olympic Torch tweets from the week, posted a much better photo today and got some moral support from Roger Ebert. You can check that out below, along with a shot of "New Moon" actor Alex Meraz's new t-shirt, two actresses who are not ashamed of their Wiis. It's all retweeted in the Twitter-Wood report for December 18, 2009.

The Mighty Boosh is the epitome of a polarising comedy. Those who loves the series are insatiable for the adventures of Howard Moon, Vince Noir and the eccentric supporting cast that includes a tiny shaman and a talking gorilla. The camp who avoid the show are those left cold by the idea of a wild bear who is only scared by slap bass. What both parties should be able to agree on though is that The Mighty Boosh is a show consisting of almost train of thought flights of fancy so fantastically weird they could easily buckle under the weight of their own whimsy, leaving the show to crumble into free form anarchy. However, the good ship Mighty Boosh is held together rather masterfully by the stewardship of series director Paul King. Using an idiosyncratic visual, reminiscent of Michel Gondry’s most outlandish work, King was able to craft an

It’s official: Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend, Kendra Wilkinson (Baskett) has gone from Girl Next Door, to Mom Next Door.
Shortly after 12:30 A.M. on December 11, 2009, Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett welcomed to the world Hank Baskett IV.
The new addition to the Baskett family weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 5 ounces, and 22 inches long. Maybe he’ll grow up to be a football player like his daddy? (Hank Baskett III is wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts)
The past six months have been a whirlwind for Wilkinson, and friends and fans alike have watched her grow out of her role as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend on E!’s reality show The Girls Next Door.
After announcing her relationship with Baskett last fall, Wilkinson moved out of the Playboy Mansion at the beginning of 2009, and her life since has revolved around their relationship.

Professional wrestling fans of Twitter-Wood turned out today with good vibes for former WWE star Umaga, who was reported to be in serious condition for unknown reasons at a Houston hospital today. Jeff Katz was among them, and I echo his sentiments.
Elsewhere in the Twitterverse, Edgar Wright finished up his director's cut of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." Jason Reitman thanked him for not competing with "Up in the Air," and writer Bryan Lee O'Malley congratulated him on the milestone. Director Kyle Newman was somewhat less congratulatory, meanwhile, in his tweet-outs to England looking ahead to the World Cup. Check out those tweets after the jump along with Kat Dennings' nevernude diagnosis of the "New Moon" werewolves, an "Eclipse" actor hanging out with David Caruso and much more in the Twitter-Wood report for December 4, 2009.

Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist and House Bunny star Kat Dennings has been cast in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming adaptation of Marvel comic-book Thor.
We know this because Natalie Portman told us yesterday ("I'm really excited. Kat Dennings is going to be in it and she's a good friend and an amazing actress.")
Portman plays Jane Foster, who nurses Thor's human alter-ego Donald Blake. So which role might Dennings be taking?

Kat Dennings (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, The House Bunny) has joined the cast of Thor, Marvel Studios’ upcoming huge-budget adaptation of the graphic novel hero.
The news comes by way of Thor co-star Natalie Portman who told MTV about her excitement.
“Well I’m really excited… Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she’s a good friend and an amazing actress, so I’m looking forward to that,” Portman said.
No word on which character Dennings will portray.
The 23-year-old will be joining Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, (hold on, let me catch my breath…okay, I’m good) Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano.

Unfortunately, as of the press time, Paramount Pictures hasn't given any official confirmation about Dennings' involvement.

Robert Pattinson cleaned up at the box office this weekend, along with the rest of the "New Moon" cast. One of his co-stars, however, would love to get together with him off-screen in the recording studio. The mega-release prompted reactions from Rainn Wilson and Brent Spiner as well today. "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli, meanwhile, tried to create a new vampire with a few photo tricks and a shot of Kat Dennings.
Check out all of that after the jump, along with Ice-t's photo op with the Naked Cowboy, philosophizing from Jim Carrey and Paris Hilton's new exotic pet. They're all on the little retweet mix tape I put together for you in the Twitter-Wood report for November 23, 2009.

Anna Faris Is Wedding Banned and Gives Ryan Reynolds Tmi

It looks like Anna Faris is going to have a very busy 2010. A couple of weeks ago we told you about her plans to visit Jellystone Park next year when she stars in the Yogi Bear movie. Now we have news today of two more projects that will star the talented young comedienne. She has just signed on to the romantic comedies Wedding Banned with Robin Williams and Tmi with Ryan Reynolds. Hit the jump for details on both projects.
According to THR, Anna Faris and Robin Williams will co-star in Wedding Banned. The story will revolve around a long-divorced couple who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did. As you can imagine, the parents rekindle their relationship as they elude cops and the angry groom. Faris will star as the daughter and Robin Williams is currently signed on to play the father.

Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris to Share 'Tmi'

There's something to be said for those plain old reliable comedies, those that don't bust guts or break records but are always good for a spin in their inevitable cable circulation, stuff along the lines of Role Models, I Love You, Man and Just Friends. That last one has proven particularly endearing (to me anyway) due to the priceless pairing of Ryan Reynolds' perfect snark with Anna Faris' endearing ditziness (they also went at each other in Waiting..., to much amusement).
It's that combination that gives me reason enough for me to care about Tmi, an all-too-honest rom-com reuniting these two. Hell, their teaming is itself enough for me to hope that they can do right by a screenplay written by the minds behind Serendipity and The Ugly Truth; after all, Faris did bring all the funny to co-writer Kirsten Smith's The House Bunny.

Anna Faris is dominating film stories today with the news that she is to star in two new comedies, one alongside Ryan Reynolds and the other with Robin Williams.
The House Bunny star will work with Reynolds in Tmi, a comedy script that has been acquired by Universal. Scripted by Kirsten Smith and Marc Klein, the film's premise is fairly vague but is said to centre around the concept that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. Andrew Panay (Old Dogs) will produce with Jonathon Komack Martin, and Reynolds is acting as executive producer on the project.
Faris' other project is a romantic comedy for Touchstone called Wedding Banned. She will star alongside Williams, but before you start worrying that the mis-matched actors will be entwined in a lovers' tryst, we should mention that Faris is in line to play Williams' daughter (phew!

Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris Sharing Too Much Information

If there's one thing that the internet has ruined (and believe me there's much more than one thing) it's the English language. It's absolutely maddening to hear people use phrases like Brb (be right back) and Btw (by the way) which have spawned from instant messaging and invaded everyday verbal conversations. Now we'll get a bigger dose of this abomination to language as Variety reports Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris are set to star in Tmi, a romantic comedy that will explore the premise that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. How exactly does that work?
Reynolds will also executive produce the script written by Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith (writer of The Ugly Truth and The House Bunny) and longtime Saturday Night Live producer Marc Klein. This project is the first purchase from Universal's new chairman and co-chair Adam Fogelson

Emily Jean Stone, better known as Emma Stone, was born on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, the daughter of Jeff and Krista Stone, and the older sister of Spencer. Stone started acting at a relatively young age, appearing in a school production of The Wind in the Willows when she was just 11. Regional theater appearances followed and eventually, at 15, Stone convinced her parents -- using popcorn and a PowerPoint presentation, of all things, keyed to the Madonna song "Hollywood" -- to let her take a serious shot at acting, which meant relocating to Los Angeles. "I just always wanted to act from birth,” Stone told Saturday Night Magazine. "I think I was drawn to comedy originally because when I was really young, by the time I was eight, I had seen movies like The Jerk (1979), Animal House (1978), and Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) with my dad, and I knew them by heart. EW's Nicole Sperling broke the news last night that The House Bunny's Anna Faris was in negotiations to join a live action/CG-animated big-screen adaptation of the TV cartoon Yogi Bear. Also in talks? Dan Aykroyd to play the voice of Yogi and perhaps most tantalizing, Justin Timberlake to lend his pipes to Yogi's bud Boo-Boo. The details of the plot that emerged would have Faris playing a nature documentarian who follows the bear pair for her latest project. Now, I'm not sure how much the world actually needs a high-tech version of Yogi Bear. And the Hanna-Barbera oeuvre
