My first impression of the new folks was really negative. They were presented as caustic and smug. But as the episode moved along, the cases were at the center. I've hoped all along that this could be more of a courtroom show (with some silliness). We have that unlikable judge whom we would like to slap. Of course, there's Denny who insulted a young litigator who happens to be a dwarf.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode features the debut of three new characters, all interesting in their own right. Claire Simms is one of my favorite characters in the entire run of BL, because her caustic and acerbic mien hides a very kind and considerate soul. Jeffrey Coho's presence on the show is all too brief; I think they had trouble deciding what to do with his character. And Clarence/Clarice Bell is a study in the development of confidence.
Oh, and there's Bethany, too. A wonderful episode.
