One of the funnier ones

Warning: Spoilers
Particularly during the tenure of Seymour, not all the episodes are all that funny. There's a bit too much about the wizard wheezes of the former schoolmaster and it just doesn't always come off. Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Aldridge (who often seems to be just enjoying watching Bill Owen & Peter Sallis perform), I love Seymour too, and his effectively bringing Edie into the stories was a great addition. I just don't always laugh all that much.

This episode though IS funny. Plus for once the blokes' plots all do work out. Firstly, Compo's plan to kiss Nora - which works because the women are doing some plotting of their own - and secondly what is clearly Seymour's plan to free Clegg from potential matrimony.

The fact that he frightens the life out of Clegg for the second time in one episode, by involving Marina, makes it even funnier (poor Marina really does deserve better than the awful Howard!)

Excellent episode.

The Kiss and Mavis Poskit
Prismark106 August 2018
This episode takes a while to warm up but gets funnier as it goes along. Compo announces that he plans to give Nora Batty a big fat kiss for her birthday, even though it is not yet her birthday.

Compro tries to practice on Ivy at the cafe only to get a tea tray slammed on his face.

Clegg meanwhile is forcibly abducted by Edie and Nora who plans to fix him up with Mavis Poskit. She fancied Clegg at school and has been widowed recently. Edie and Nora thinks that Clegg and Mavis are both made for each other.

Seymour and Compo plan to rescue him and it involves Marina and some boxer shorts. Meanwhile Nora gets a big shock when she enters Clegg's bedroom.

Well I think this is the first time we have seen Clegg's bedroom in the show.
