Before Auntie Wainwright it seems our trio wandered into Dougie's second hand shop, Another seller of tat who could sell anything to anyone. Holmfirth seems to be full of these types.

Compo walks into the cafe and startles everybody with his skinny jeans. Syd startles Nora leading to words between Ivy and Nora. Strangely they were all going along fine a few episodes ago when the cafe was refurbished.

Ivy also makes accusatory remarks about Syd's roving eye and possible infidelity. Throughout the show this has been an ongoing theme that Syd had an eye for the ladies and liked to play away.

Of course the 1970s and the 1980s was an era where middle aged men loved to go to seaside with a metal detector that they purchased from Argos. Foggy is chuffed to bits with Clegg's purchase of a metal detector and with some tinkering by all the men in the cafe it lets out a piercing ping when it detects something, alarming everyone.

Will they find buried treasure in the Yorkshire countryside or just discarded beer cans?

A rather flabby episode given Compo's tight jeans. It relied more on people talking and reminiscing but it did not do it for me until the metal detector went ting.
