No good deed goes unpunished

Warning: Spoilers
Two strands to this episode. In one, the first signs of gentrification at the cafe, as Ivy has Sid installing a doorbell. The sort that rings when someone steps into the cafe and onto the doormat. The "help" provided by our trio is about as helpful as you might expect.

In between two sessions of DIY, an accident with some pepper sees the lads sitting outside the cafe to recover. Seeing Compo with his eyes streaming, Nora jumps, nay, leaps to the conclusion that he must have suffered a bereavement and in a hitherto unprecedented display of neighbourly kindness, clutches the distraught (not!) Compo to her bosom and whisks all three of the men off to her house for that most British cure-all - a cup of tea.

She discovers her mistake in fairly short order....

As does Ivy, who really should have paid someone to install that bell!

This may be the first time Compo got quite so close to Nora. It wouldn't be the last. A fun episode.

A bit of comfort from Nora

Some tender moments in this episode as the trio cannot remember what day of the week it is. Our retired trio spend so much time ambling about the days just merge in to one. Compo even wistfully reminiscences about a past love.

However in the present day, some pepper spillage gives him an opportunity to rest is head on Nora Batty's bosom as she thinks he is upset about something. Compo takes a chance to try to undo her blouse. At the very least we get to see a rare tender side of Nora. She must have liked the attention from her neighbour as her husband Wally was always more interested in his pigeons.

The visual gags are from when the trio decide to help Sid to install a new door buzzer at the cafe entrance so it goes of when someone walks through the door. The cafe looks a little bit cleaner and shinier in this series. Looks like Ivy has nagged Sid to spruce it up.
