Two strands to this episode. In one, the first signs of gentrification at the cafe, as Ivy has Sid installing a doorbell. The sort that rings when someone steps into the cafe and onto the doormat. The "help" provided by our trio is about as helpful as you might expect.
In between two sessions of DIY, an accident with some pepper sees the lads sitting outside the cafe to recover. Seeing Compo with his eyes streaming, Nora jumps, nay, leaps to the conclusion that he must have suffered a bereavement and in a hitherto unprecedented display of neighbourly kindness, clutches the distraught (not!) Compo to her bosom and whisks all three of the men off to her house for that most British cure-all - a cup of tea.
She discovers her mistake in fairly short order....
As does Ivy, who really should have paid someone to install that bell!
This may be the first time Compo got quite so close to Nora. It wouldn't be the last. A fun episode.
