Newer Hearing Aids Pretty Amazing
ccthemovieman-112 April 2008
This program's four topics are (1) hearing aids; (2) 3-D puzzles; (3) rubber mats and (4) toilets. Everyone will have something different that interests them, perhaps, more than others, but I thought the first segment - the one on hearing aids - was the most interesting.

They are tinier and more effective than ever, two things that should make folks happy. You can barely see them as they are molded to your ear drum with the same flesh color and don't appear to stick out. They also have better sound. It was amazing how small all the key parts were that have to fit in this earpiece.

The other part that was pretty interesting were the rubber mats, only because I hadn't realized we don't burn tires anymore in the U.S. No more of that horrible smell and pollution! Instead, we make rubber mats out of them, using two cutting and grinding sessions then cleaning, cooking and cutting. Also, the parts of the tire that aren't rubber are also ground up and recycled.

The toilet part was just a bunch of molds fitted together. They didn't get into the flushing mechanisms and all that. The 3-D Puzzles I thought might be cool but really wasn't much. It was the only boring part of this show, mainly just showing big slabs of cardboard being cut.
