This is one episode from the 13-part series "The World of Hammer". I have seen quite a few of these shows but this review particularly focuses on this episode, "Vamps". "Vamps" is an overview of Hammer's film featuring female vampires--and considering that this is only about eight films, the material is stretched a bit thin. The show is made up entirely of film clips as Oliver Reed narrates. While not all his narration is brilliantly written, Reed's voice is absolutely lovely and adds a bit of class to the production.
So is it worth seeing? Well, it's a agreeable time-passer and folks who like Hammer's films might enjoy the walk down memory lane. However, there really isn't any background information, inside dope or insights--just a lot of clips as Reed narrates and nothing more. I would also say that in the case of a few of the films, the show makes the movies seem more sexually explicit and filled with lesbianism than was actually the case!
