Uncomfortable for this viewer

Frankly, the minute someone said I had to give all my stuff away, I would have refused. I'd just go with causing offence, thanks. Watching Joel having to let people take his stuff and then getting rubbish back makes me feel REALLY uncomfortable! I daresay that's a character flaw, but that's how it is.

Of course this episode of NE is well up to the usual standard but I'm knocking off points for making me feel terrible :)

Togetherness

Joel treats an elderly tribal leader with Cortizone and she is grateful, she gives him a live goat. This is the beginning of his being embraced into the tribe. He, of course, is kicking and screaming, but feels sheepish about going against the tribe. The next thing determined is that he must give up all his worldly possessions. Actually, people line up to take his stuff. What comes next is a mystery, but he starts to fear mutilation and death. He must also embrace a vision quest. A slightly weaker part of the episode is Holling, trying to find a star in the sky that is associated with a first love. It just doesn't come off so well, but there is something poignant about it.
