Buford Pusser versus Freddy Krueger

If you watch old television shows its suprising to see future stars in their beginnings. For example, before he was Archie Bunker Carroll O'Connor made over a hundred guest shots on shows like Gunsmoke and I Spy. In this short lived series first episode Robert Englund appears as a sleazy drug dealer and this was three years before he started playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street movies. The Walking Tall movies were very popular because it allowed us to stand up and cheer for a very unique good guy who spoke loud and carried a big stick. I don't know what the real Sheriff Buford Pusser was like but he is played like a knight on a white horse in this tv show by Bo Svenson. He is almost too good to be true a loving father and honest to the core. This is the only episode of the show I remember where he is trying to save the children of his county from PCP dealing bad guys. They come after his son and dose him with the drug and that REALLY sets Buford off. I watched it again on youtube for the first time in 42 years the other day.
