This is a solid episode. The plot is not as large as some, though it seems the Italian Opera star Rosa Montebello is critical to US -Italy relations. She is going to New Orleans to perform Lucia, in the opera house. Meanwhile there are a group of people headed by a mysterious masked person who want to kidnap Rosa.
I had a crush on Angelique and because of this episode remember her years later when she was in The Bucket List. There are 3 or 4 major beauties in this one and all of them get into scenes. The train and the house used for many shows are here too. Seems like every time we are set in New Orleans these sets are always used. Everything looks good.
The stunt sequences for West are solid with one of the few times that the minstrel song "Buffalo Gal" is ever on a television show. It is used neatly in a stunt sequence. Ross Martin gets not just 2 roles, but more acting in this one than usual. Conrad gets stunts and just a little acting with Artie in this one, and a woman on his arm at the end.
The plot centers around a tragic accident that happened to an opera singer and her memory which has created the Lucia society. Of course the twist is why the society. Being a season 4 show, the stunts are toned down a bit but still pretty solid. Just exactly what a West fan is looking for, entertaining including a song from the lovely Angelique, and culture moments, plus that haunting portrait of Mason.
