Agreeing with Mr. Rodrigues

This series is enjoyable to watch and Ron Ely gave 100% to make it work. As Mr. Rodrigues noted, it was shot in Mexico and there was not much effort to pretend that it should have been in Africa. Another thing to note is how often they used the same actors in guest roles over and over almost like it was a stock company. Jock Mahoney was a guest star four times in the first season playing a different character each time.

Maybe the show was directed at kids and such shortcuts would not have been noticed. Maybe these shortcomings were due to budget restrictions and they had to make do with what they had. The program could have gone on more than two years if the money had been there for location shooting in Africa and better writing and more money to hire more guest stars. I do enjoy watching actors who were starting their careers and those who were getting to work here when maybe opportunities elsewhere may have been limited. No disrespect intended.

Guest James Earl Jones

One of the funny things about the old series is to watch great actors in beginning of his career like James Earl Jones and Strother Martin almost in the edge, Ron Ely's Tarzan is funny, but all episodes were made in same location in Mexico and the same point of the river, it's very a bad production, how this show is driven for kids maybe they didn't care about to repeat hundred times at same location, Sy Weintraub could be done better.
