Warning: Spoilers
You would certainly think this would be a good episode. It has all of the elements you would expect a Starsky and Hutch story to have. But that just may be the problem; everything goes just as expected.

This episode feels as if someone took a check list and put all the "right" stuff into the show. Beautiful woman in peril - check. Love interest to one of our heroes - check. Eccentric killer - check. Close calls with death - check.

The story is just sloppy, too. You could have simply hidden the beautiful woman somewhere until you found the killer, instead of letting her hang around her own home waiting to be murdered. Our professional killer was equally sloppy with his killing methods and with covering his trail. He's unreachable, but he leaves a forwarding address? You were right, Starsky, I would never believe it.

I can see where an episode like this would make PMG and DS bored with the whole thing. It's definitely missing some snappy dialog or anything to give them a challenge. They could do this one in their sleep, and they probably did.

Maud Adams + David Soul = 0 chemistry
imdb-2528812 July 2020
This episode was beyond bad. It took about 17 minutes in for the leads to appear and they're sleepy. David Soul, I don't know what happened. He has 0 charm in this S4. His dreadful dark hair doesn't suit him. What happened to blond Hutch? This mustache is a nightmare. It has a life of its own. I believe it has haunted Hutch with a severe case of depression. Maud Adams, where to begin? Not a pretty face but a weird one. She plays a model and an ex "friend" of Hutch. Love interest for 1 episode but they have 0 chemistry together. When they kiss, it's like watching brother and sister. I'd love to know the behind the scenes: I'd bet they hated each other.

This episode is slow and beyond boring. The best part of this title? 1) The brotha in a mailman uniform looking spiffy. 2) The classical music he listens to. I have no idea the title of the piece, but it's a well-known classical piece. And we have no idea if it's background music or he plays it, cos we never see a musical device. Other than that, this episode sucked. Yet surprisingly enough, it's not the worst of the series. Have you see the one that comes after, with the wrestling? PMG puts in some oomph but David Soul is a bore because he's bored out of his wits.

I can't believe I typed this much about. I swear to you, my review is oodles less boring than this episode. And that's saying something! It's saying how terrible this episode was! If I were a fan, I'd never buy S4. It sucks. Really bad. Like a salt and vinegar-dipped lemon lollipop.
