This is the first episode of series 2 that I have seen and. At first was rather bored but quickly I regained interest. Two parallel stories, one important, the other secondary run in the episode. I got used to the new actor as the two members of the Professor's team. I preferred the girl who is not as beautiful as the first one but has character and substance, the first had also to be fair.I still waiver among who is better I have to see more episodes of the second series to decide. The obvious thing is that the new girl has a pronounced Scottish accent thus making the ambiance of the series more Scottish. The I liked less than the former one, judging from the one episode I saw but I do not thing that may verdict will be reversed by what will follow.I noted that in this episode there is something like the restitution of right and good.I suspect that the series creators found that the bleak acceptance of evil's omnipotence in the first series was something of a disadvantage commercially. But I can not say without having seen the whole series. There was in chat an opinion that the series deteriorates from wonderful to terrible, there was also the exactly opposite opinion.I can not say yet, I just think that the episode I saw was very slightly less good than the ones of the first series, but that has probably to do with the fact that the surprise element has been lost and I am getting used to the series tricks-something like a government who is long in power and starts declining. This has not happened to these series yet, though.
