There is plenty in this story that is unnerving. Photographs that are malevolent. Children from another time. The faceless man who can move from photo to photo and even hide inside mirrors.
The chilling aspect is when the faceless man burns the photograph and the people inside it die.
Sapphire and Steel are trapped inside a photograph and need Liz's help to escape. At least Steel has an idea to trap the faceless man.
There is real peril for Sapphire and Steel who are in danger of being burnt.
There is a lot here that has been used on other sci fi shows. I am thinking of the Doctor Who episodes The Idiot's Lantern and Human Nature/Family of Blood. Those stories were made at a time when Peter Hammond was writing for its spinoff, Torchwood.
I did wonder how Liz was coping in the 21st century when everyone is taking photos on mobiles phones and CCTV surveillance is widespread.
