In this episode I was simply mesmerised by David Collings performance as Silver. It was the same when I first watched it as a kid.
Collings instantly became a favourite actor of a lot of people back in the early 1980s. It was just a shame that after Peter Davison departed the role in Doctor Who. John Nathan Turner was more interested in getting someone he saw entertaining kids at a party than hold proper auditions.
Even when he Silver is not saying anything he holds you attention. Another thing slightly different with this episode. There is no outside location shooting, also with two characters gone. The sets are more reminiscent of the claustrophobic first assignment.
Silver reminds Steel that he is a technician who gets them in and out. Silver has managed to get them all in one pod.
They eventually see the grown up manchild but Silver is convinced that the manchild is robotic.
There are some cryptic hints as to what can be behind all this.
