Debbie Reynolds, Johnny Carson, and Peter Sellers are the guests in this third season premiere ep of "Laugh-In"

Well, most of the cast from the previous season of "Laugh-In" returns with these following newcomers: Teresa Graves, Jeremy Lloyd, Pamela Rodgers, and Byron Gilliam. Actually, the last one was on the show the last season but this was the first time he's even acknowledged in the opening credits as announced by Gary Owens! Among the guest stars are Debbie Reynolds-a former Miss Burbank, Johnny Carson, and Peter Sellers who has most of his scenes with fellow character actor Arte Johnson and would subsequently team with other cast member Goldie Hawn in the movie There's a Girl in My Soup. Johnson and Sellers are very funny when the latter is with the former in the Tyrone and Wolfgang skits. As always, Ruth Buzzi is also very funny when playing Gladys who for once isn't in the Cocktail Party sketch this ep! Plenty of plugs abound from Ms. Reynolds' TV show the following night to Sellers' upcoming movie The Magic Christian to Dick Martin mentioning Gary Owens's daytime show "Letters to Laugh-In" before literally "plugging" him to one after the Joke Wall closing credits which only shows a scene of a door to the CBS offices and voices representing a couple of the network executives discussing a new show they're trying to name. When one of the two suggests "Laugh-In", the other says that's already been taken so how about "Hee Haw"! By the way, it wasn't mentioned but that show replaced the already cancelled "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" in the Sunday at 8 (9 Eastern) slot! Anyway, this was the funniest of the "Laugh-In" eps I've seen yet.
