Ross Crawford, a 35 year old adventurer, enters Sydney's office and he is looking 70 years old. No, it wasn't too much smoking that almost killed him. He took a wooden idol from an African temple and now suffers from the curse of the god, apparently. He begs Sydney and Nigel desperately to bring back the idol into the temple, also because the curse will probably extend to the local people soon. The local militia, however, does not exactly welcome them with open arms, and the contact person who should help them is found dead...
Really good story, because in opposite to the usual run, this episode does not deal with the discovery of an object, but with its return, which is an even more dangerous mission. It's a really tough job for Sydney (she is a force of nature", an enemy acknowledges) and an exciting start for season 2.
