A fun and promising first episode

Warning: Spoilers
Sydney Fox is a history professor at Trinity College but her side job is searching for lost relics. At the behest of some devote Buddhists, Sidney and her newly appointed teaching assistant, Nigel Bailey, go to Nepal to find a long lost bowl owned by Buddha. There they meet an old adversary of Sydney's - Stewie Harper, who also wants the bowl but for purely monetary reasons. The welcome humor is provided by the naive and endearing Nigel and by the wacky airhead office employee in the history department. The show is all about action, adventure and the complete suspension of belief. Carrere and the supporting cast do a fine job and the show is great fun and entertaining.

The beginning
unbrokenmetal30 March 2014
Sydney Fox teaches history at Trinity College. Her new English assistant Nigel Bailey is quite surprised when she throws a spear at him during a ritual dance – she says the students should not only be learning history from the books, but see the real thing. And before you can say 'awesome', she is on her way to Nepal with Nigel to compete with the treasure hunter Stewie (Tony Rosato), looking for the bowl of Buddha.

The opening episode of the series is a bit rushed, and it makes the inspiration for the series too obvious. The story of this chase for an artifact is very much Indiana Jones (on a TV budget), and with the olive top and the brown leather bag, Tia Carrere undeniably is presented as a Lara Croft wannabe. Later episodes are often more original and creative, but the fun is there from the first minute of the running time.
