It is the final episode of the series and Glover is getting discharged. Jobless with little prospects, Figgis gives him £10 for the bus fare home despite both of them having heated arguments about class and politics.
Trouble for the hospital ensues when Figgis wears a doctor's coat and goes to the pub. He starts to diagnose the customers and they all end up in A&E.
Even Glover turns up in the pub feigning illness so he can be readmitted to the hospital. Figgis duly obliges.
Dr Thorpe gets more than he bargained for when he tries to examine the busty barmaid. At least he might have been saved from a trip to a GMC disciplinary meeting.
This was the best episode of the first series. It was a good showcase for James Bolam's comedic skills. He might be a conniver but he also shows that he has a good heart.
