Maggie is about to turn thirty. The show begins with her calmly enjoying life on a beautiful day. By the time the townspeople get done with her (Chris in particular who is often clueless), she is a mess. Shelly and others treat her like she has leprosy. So she decides to go on a bit of a vision quest and camp on a remote shore which Ed suggested. The idea is to write letters to people to get rid of their memories, and throw them in the river. This is a version of a practice performed by Native Americans. Sadly, she is not feeling well and is running a bit of a fever. She begins hallucinating and meets the four men she dated who died (there's a fifth one who she went out with one time who also died. She barely remembered him). They are all critical of the way she treated them, pointing out all her shortcomings. When she awakens, Ed and Joel are there with an IV. Joel realized from a blood test that she could be in trouble, so he and Ed go looking for her. In related plot development, Marilyn gets Chris to give her driving lessons. But he is so insufferable that she can barely stand it (constant explanations and insights). Meanwhile, Maurice is writing a memoir which he believe will win a Pulitzer. He becomes so insufferable that Ruth Anne takes matters into her own hands. I really liked this one.
