Interrupting the Status Quo
Hitchcoc5 March 2024
There was something missing in this episode. I guess it's the usual charm and interaction. Hard to come up with an improvement after "Thanksgiving." Here we have an aging Terrance Stamp (the gallant soldier impressing Julie Christie in Far From the Madding Crowd). He claims to be a former KGB agent who has secrets to sell. Maurice is approached and there is a little extortion. Other in town are also given an opportunity to keep him quiet. The thing is that the evidence is merely hearsay and wouldn't affect people that much. In the second plot item, a whiney little food inspector comes into the Brick and shows Holling a bunch of code violations. Of course, Holling takes it personally and tries to circumvent things. It all plays out in the end.
