Gemmas second strike

Nutjob Sonia (Kim Feeny who was also in the comparably much better earlier Hunger episode 'Room 19) offers to help a fellow war veteran, who also happens to be a vampire (Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito) while in a psychiatric hospital.

I knew I was in for trouble when I saw that this was based on a story by Gemma Files, but maybe The previous mind-numbingly awful "The Hideabout" episode which was also a story by her wasn't truly a good barometer of her work on a whole. Alas after this.. Well whatever this was, I know my fears were well founded. Another lackluster outing.

Gemma Files is actually a good writer. But this episode sucks.

I've read some of her stuff in the horror anthology books i used to collect, I haven't read the original story so i don't know if this was a bad adaptation or if the story just didn't translate well to film.

Giancarlo Esposito has proven himself to be a great actor but he's completely over the top in this role. In contrast Kim Feeney (who's acting was better in the other two episodes she was in) gives a very dull and wooden performance.
