Xavier St. Cloud is back with one hand and a hook in place of the other. He is killing immortals by having mortals shoot immortals and then he kills them. He has a "secret partner."
Xavier's secret partner is Horton, who is alive. I thought it was stupid that they kept him in shadows. The shadows weren't very good and you could clearly make him out. His voice is also very distinctive. I mean why bother with that part of the presentation to the audience if you're just gonna let them see the secret right away?
Horton is using Xavier to kill immortals. Xavier is using Horton to get revenge on Mac as well as setting himself up to be "the one." Horton may be in this episode but he seems almost detached, constantly on a computer looking up whatever. I think what was missing for the Horton character in the series was that he never has a flashback. He should have. It would have been interesting to see if he always had his current view, or if something changed to make him have this view.
Xavier and his thugs shoot up the dojo with both Mac and Charlie diving into the office. When Xavier said to his men to make sure they're dead, they turn their guns sideways and raise them up in the air at a slant to shoot in the office. I thought this was stupid. Clearly, Mac/Charlie didn't have weapons. They weren't shooting back. The men could have gone right into the office to shoot them.
Horton looks at footage of the video from 'Return of Amanda,' pointing out to a man that, that was Duncan Macleod. Kinda dumb. I mean Horton must have photos of Duncan. Duncan is out and about all the time. As for the video itself, it should have been destroyed as it went into the water with Mac and Amanda. I guess the man is supposed to follow Mac. But Mac spots him and it turns out he's an old seal buddy of Charlie's. Xavier later kills the man. Now a woman from Army intelligence, Renee is investigating.
Later Mac finds out where Xavier may be. Busy body Charlie follows him even tho Mac had told him it wasn't his business. Mac and Xavier fight. Then Mac spots Horton as Horton shoots. him. He also shoots Charlie who is badly injured. Mac is furious with Joe that he covered up that Horton was alive. Joe tries to say Mac is wrong, but later he follows Joe and finds him with Horton. Joe said didn't know Horton was doing this, and thought he left the country to live a quiet life.
This episode part 1 of 2, could have been better but it had a lot of dumb things, not-so-secret Horton, dumb shootout move, the useless character following Mac. I gave it a 7/10.
