Glad Richie is back. Silly that Hyde needs Richie to lead him to Duncan. Good plan by Duncan

Warning: Spoilers
Richie is being followed by an unseen immortal who keeps killing mortals on his path, finally framing Richie for a murder. Richie doesn't know what to do so heads straight to Duncan for help. Turns out Duncan recognizes the pattern. It's Martin Hyde, who did the same exact thing to him in the past as a way to get Duncan to run back to his teacher, Connor, his true target. This time he was using Richie to get him to run back to his teacher, Duncan, his true target this time around.

So this guy, Hyde, needs Richie to lead him to Duncan? I get the flashback as back then it wasn't as easy to find an immortal you were hunting. But in the modern age, all he had to do was probably look in a phone book. Duncan doesn't exactly hide. He never changed his name. He puts himself out there. His name comes up in countless police files. He books tickets for the ballet in his name. He attends the funeral of people in the music industry. In season one, he went to a famous designer immortal friend's fashion show. See what I mean? What's even more stupid it that Hyde somehow is able to find Richie, who is actually on the move unlike Duncan, not to mention he's a newly "born" immortal. So not that many immortals would even know the connection between Duncan and Richie.

I was glad to see Richie back. I enjoyed his scenes with Duncan. I'm guessing his comment about meeting a girl named Monica was a wink about Stan Kirsch's appearance on the TV show 'Friends.' I only ever saw about 10 episodes of 'Friends,' so I never did see Stan's appearance, but I bet a lot of viewers of both shows at the time must have gotten a kick out of the line.

Loved the title, 'Prodigal Son.' I mentioned in a previous review that Richie and Duncan have a father/son relationship. Seemed so fitting here.

Loved Duncan's plan to trick Hyde into going after him so the police would realize Hyde was the real killer and not Richie. Love the scene at the end between Richie and Duncan. I suspect there was some ad-libbing there. I heard recently from someone that worked on the set that their laughter right at the end wasn't in the script. They both just started laughing. I'm glad they kept that in the scene. It's especially heartwarming now, knowing that Stan Kirsch passed away earlier this year. I gave the episode an 8/10.
