A soap opera with ghosts?

Warning: Spoilers
1. In all the history of immortals, who knows how many had an immortal spouse (or spouses). Duncan's immortal friend Alec Hill had at least two beautiful mortal wives. In the 1880's Genevieve was murdered when immortal Kragen (Genevieve's previous husband) pulled her over a cliff with him. This apparently drove Alec a bit crazy as he spends the next 110 years or so sitting at his piano playing and singing the song "Aura Lee" ad nauseam (that was Genevieve's favorite song). 2. Alec's mortal wife in the 1990's, Jennifer, has most likely gone crazy from listening to "Aura Lee" too many times and now she believes she sees Alec's ghost now that he has been killed. 3. Richie learns that it was he, not Kragen, who killed Alec a few months before. Richie told Duncan that he never even learned Alec's name at the time. Don't immortals introduce themselves anymore before doing battle? 4. Jennifer has felt attracted to Richie since she walked into the dojo, possibly because Richie had received Alec's quickening. Richie ends up in bed with Jennifer, but then he decides to tell her that he was the one who killed her immortal husband. Bad move. 5. Duncan had left to fulfill his promise to Alec. Kragen now works as a director of low budget movies and Duncan puts and end to the director. We see yet another very interesting quickening. Duncan is pushed forward from the body as if being levitated across the floor. It was as if the quickening itself was trying to protect Duncan from the props and lights which fell as a result of the lightning. 6. Jennifer returns to Richie's apartment later with a revolver and fires two slugs into Richie's chest, intending to take his head with Richie's sword. Duncan arrives in time and convinces her to walk away. 7. A lot was packed into this episode. It was a twisted and tragic story, but could have been a happy story if only two events had been happened differently. One. If Genevieve had not insisted that Duncan and Alec go down to the stream to wash up the she would not have been left alone when Kragen showed up (well maybe). Two. Alec finally locates Kragen and shows up at Kragen's movie studio in battle mode. If Richie had not been such a hot head and simply moved his motorcycle out of the way then maybe Alec would still be alive and Kragen hopefully out of the picture. I suppose though, that this was not supposed to be a happy episode.
