The real culprit is found sleeping rough on the roof of the Gang's bus - he is Sydney, a struggling pop singer. The Gang decides to give him a helping hand on his road to stardom.
He is given a new name - 'The Cool Cavalier' - and dressed in the appropriate clothing. Brains constructs a special machine that plays recorded backing music.
With Albert's help, word goes around that the Cool Cavalier will make his official debut at a discotheque in the junkyard.
Of course things do not go as smoothly as planned...
A sweet little episode this, with surprisingly little slapstick. Richard Branson-lookalike Anthony May is good in the role of 'Sydney', although it seems improbable that in 1970 anyone with such a twee name as 'The Cool Cavalier' could have become a pop sensation.
The 'disco' the Double Deckers stage is very Austin Powers-ish, but one wonders why the neighbours did not send for the police on account of the noise.
