About as subtle as smashing someone in the face with a brick

In case you missed it, the message of this movie is that it is wrong to blame children for having AIDs. As only network TV in the 80s could do, this Message is delivered with about as much nuance as a sledge hammer. The writing and actor playing the child won awards. Poor kid was hampered by his age, but mostly by the ham-handed story and the utterly terrible dialog. Pity--he was actually pretty good in other productions and movies.
