A very intelligent, brilliant episode for this TV show. It takes place in the old west but it is not a purely western. The tale of a scoundrel, a sort of dandy who doesn't respect women, as the plot line above explains...Patrick Duffy gives here an interesting performance, the lead character, the bad guy, if we may describe him this way.
I thought of George Sanders all long the episode. This play would have suit him very well, a beautiful but deadly dandy. The perfect Sanders character...
The fall, the end of this story is absolutely outstanding. We don't see this kind of ending very often.
A very good story that changes from the usual and boring stuff. I am very sensitive to these things. I like being surprised, in the good way, of course.
