Sgt. Getrayer is Torn by Protest
hypestyle24 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Sgt. Getrayer is confronted by the fact that his college-aged daughter is joining a church-sponsored protest of a nuclear power plant. The bus that will be used to transport the protesters is old and out of shape, but the pastor has been assured by one of the planners that the appropriate brake work has been done to keep it in basic functioning shape.

But it doesn't work, and the CHP team has to rescue the protesters when there is a bad accident on the way to the protest.

Meanwhile, there is a young boy (Adam Rich) who is apparently being abused by his father, and Ponch intervenes. A third plot (not the a, not the b, but the c-plot?) finds that Harland the mechanic wants to join the LAPD and not just be the auto shop guy who fixes the cars and motorcycles. The latter plot is played for laughs, especially at the end.

Overall, it's a decent episode. Bobby replaces Jon as Ponch's temporary partner here, and he is missed. But the overall episode isn't bad.
