Flirtatious Dutch charm singer Martin Morero enjoys his success, popularity and money, and moves to the fancy Holland suburban villa area the Gooik, with his (cheated on, so guilt-)spoiled wife Cheryl Morero, who is clearly out of her depth with both their paparazzi-attracting profile and the posh neighborhood's society expectations, so she's greatly relieved when friendly neighbor Willemijn Lodewijkx takes charge of organizing the megalomaniac housewarming party in a not even finished villa like a seasoned circuit semi-professional. Alas Willemyn only does this so well because their adolescent son Roderick and two younger daughters no longer really need mothering and her husband, stuffy good provider Evert Lodewijkx, is sexually disinterested (jerking off in the shower). Worse is neighbor Claire van Kampen, a ruthless divorce lawyer, who bitches even at her perfect husband Anton van Kampen and swears eternal revenge on the upstarts, starting with a ban on all social contacts, after an accidental delivery of soil damaged her garden fence. Free of frustrations is nymphomaniac neighbor Anouk Verschuur, a hedonistic sculptor who shamelessly jumps any hunky bones, from her studly young nude models to Claire's prospective client -hence 'ripe to pick'- freezer salesman Joost, and largely leaves caring for her daughter Vlinder to Thai au-pair Tippi Wan. The late-evening party is a success, but as Claire refuses to accompany Anton, even arranges Joost's two-faced ex-to-be to come round as solo-client just then, he goes alone and falls for Anouk's flirting, alas too literally: stripped to his boxers athletic Anton dives into the pool, which alas isn't illuminated, at Willemyn's suggestion to hide it's unfinished and empty...

Cheryl's spending and stupid business meddling have ruined the Moreros. Martin would accept to act in commercials, but she decides to sell the house instead. Anouck finally realizes she and Vlinder can't be happy without Tom or keep him as she (mis)behaves. Roelien agonizes over taking another pregnancy test, but may find happiness with Evert's offspring. Claire finally swallows her pride to be with Dirk and make up with her pregnant daughter Merel.

Now Cheryl has taken Martin back, the doctor diagnoses his slow sperm is hopeless. He forgets about that when she happily reveals she is finally pregnant, and lies to Tom. They'll all realize what happened at the 'pregnancy party' she throws, when Anouk asks Tom to remarry. Meanwhile Willemyn had turned unreasonably aggressive towards Lodewijk after finding out their teenage son, Roderick, is using marijuana. A referral from Cheryl to a plastic surgeon reboots her marital love-life: the divorce seems canceled. Tipi Wan found the pregnancy test and tells Lodewijk she's expecting Roderik's baby, but for 100,000 Euro... Claire's waiter, Max, finds a way to become a financially acceptable alternative for her dirty old courter, Robert Bovenlander, by cheating with her at his new job as roulette croupier, but that has a nasty consequence.

Willemyn and Evert are like lovers again, but can't decide whether to tell their kids, so they catch Roderick and his current girlfriend as 'intimate' in the garden shed. Cheryl has fallen for the sexual temptation of her first lover, Frankie De Jong. She uses his old-timer cars- dealership in Osdorp as excuse to 'visit' him. Meanwhile Martin's mother Greet is staying for a week, determined to train Tippi Wan - but also traps her as a thief. The Thai maid fights back, first exposing the paternity test she found, then fatally. Anouck's latest project to save the world, despite Claire's cautioning for both, involves African asylum-seeker Abdiraman, who gets Dutch courses and her usual full body-treatment.

Evert enjoys sexual exhaustion by Roelien. Martin and Cheryl enjoy meeting loose new neighbors Thijs and Danielle, who soon out themselves as swingers. Anouck throws poet Joost van Wenten out, but he secretly keeps a key and sends her bizarre messages. Claire is instructed to arrange a rich legate for Roelien's aunt society queen Cecile Van Buuren's tween fitness instructor Edwin 'Butch' Bartels, but is indiscreet to Cheryl, who spreads a rumor. The police interrogates Ernst about investment fraud, so Claire believes his expensive presents dirty and dumps him, but her clients also desert.

Roelien announces her pregnancy, but Evert feels he's too old and would sort of betray the late Willemyn and their kids. However they insist Roelien must stay. Claire hoped in vain to take Roelien's place but lacked maternal instinct, and hits the bottle instead. Cheryl was taken hostage by Martin's super-fan Joke, who invites him to kill her off with a baseball bat, but he turns it on Joke. After therapy with Dr. Rossi they decide to renew their vows. Anouk has an offer to go and produce some artwork for a sheik in Dubai - nobody will miss her, least of all Vlinder, who can stay with dad Tom, who has a new girlfriend, an air traffic controller. The send-off party has a twist.

A Luxury ladies life seems good, with poet Joost as a playful lover again. Ernst restores Claire's financial fortune, Evert's dog whisperer has turned domestic, they even making their affair public, and Cheryl launches a perfume for designer Yari. Then the press sees through the autobiographical 'fictional' novel the Thai former au-pair publishes form jail 'I, Tipi Wan, in het Gooik', outing the friends' dirty secrets. It sells better then Joost's latest poetry, they can't keep buying all copies to get them out of circulation. Suddenly nothing is seeming so good anymore.

Now her ex Evert even makes a trip to Milan with his mistress Diana van der Kieft, housemother Willemijn decides to start living as a spoiled single, and expects her friends to help her get started, especially free spirit Anouk, who is however more interested in her daughter's new au-pair Jurriaan, who she wanted to get rid of till she believed him to be gay but turns out ideal and interested in-living lover-material for herself. Cheryl worries more about her philandering husband Martin who by buying a flashy new car attracts the undesirable attention of tax inspector Van Dijk, which problem is surprisingly removed by the sneaky, fake-pregnant thieving Thai maid Tippi-Wan they took in after Anouk threw her out. To face her bills, Claire takes in rich wheelchair patient Ernst.

Evert waves Willemyn's domineering mother Adriana's haughty objections to a re-marriage as she believes it's even tackier than a divorce, but the idea of a prenuptial sticks in Willemyn's mind. Finding Tippi Wan breastfeeding Remy, Cheryl is furious enough to brave her threats and throw the au-pair out. She breaks Martin's heart by telling him that Tom is the father, so Dr. Rossi makes a house-call, but in vain. Claire makes him consider his own past and that Remy is still theirs, which sinks in just in time for Evert's rehearsal dinner speech. Tippi Wan prepares a sinister double revenge.

The Moreros want a sibling for Remy, but Cheryl insists on the same dad: Tom, the natural way. Not what infertile Martin wanted on his birthday, but he's surprised. Martin's susceptibility to super-fan Joke makes jealous Cheryl pay her a visit, which she may regret. Roelien earns a place amongst the girls by chasing poet Joost, but feels like an outsider with his modest income and attire, so they offer her a make-over before her major dog-show, then forget about it. Claire is deserted by her clients and refuses a plea-bargain to testify against Ernst, hoping for a dirty profit share, but the court session has a twist.
