Film Independent and Australians in Film USA (AiF) will assist setting up the program, and AiF are also providing financial assistance to Mentor La recipients to attend the Talent USA: La program.

The ABC had greenlit the development of The Heights when Que Minh Luu, who co-created the drama serial with Warren Clarke, was alerted to a job vacancy at the public broadcaster.
Sally Riley, the ABC’s head of drama, comedy and Indigenous, suggested Luu apply for the role of an executive producer.
That presented a dilemma for the Matchbox Pictures development executive. “On one hand I was keen to see the show through to completion,” she tells If. “On the other hand I wanted to get into producing, jobs like that are rare and I may not have had the opportunity again.”
So she applied, got the position and continued to oversee the 30-episode production from Matchbox and Peta Astbury-Bulsara’s For Pete’s Sake Productions as an Ep.

Ebonnie Masini and Rian McLean in 'Round the Twist' (1989), Australian Children's Television Foundation
Australian children.s TV may have recently picked up an Emmy Kids award for the Abcme animation Doodles, but otherwise kids. TV in this country is in a dire state.
Free-to-air TV networks have to commission certain amounts of children.s programs each year. But in recent years there.s been a dismaying lack of new live action shows, or recognisably Australian content. Instead, local children.s TV has become dominated by animation with little sense of place.
This is a shame, because Australia.s most fondly remembered children.s TV shows are live action productions such as Mortified, Playschool, Blue Water High, and Round the Twist. When asked in a 2015 survey to name their favourite childhood TV characters, most people chose Round the Twist siblings Linda and Bronson, followed by Mortified.s Taylor Fry.

Australian actor Lachlan Buchanan plays Duncan, who has some history with Alison . Given the mysterious nature of the show, we've been sworn to secrecy as to what we watched him film on set, but we will tell you this: every time we think we've got Alison Dilaurentis figured out, a boy from her past appears to reveal a shocking twist. Duncan is no different.
"They make such an effort to keep things mysterious," Lachlan told us as we hung out in his trailer, waiting for him to be called back to set. "I think Duncan's trustworthy at this point,...
