The best fan film I've ever seen...
Shinji_Mimura22 February 2004
This is probably the prodigy of all fan films. I've seen many, and the majority of them are awful. However, this was an exception. A beautifully done masterpiece.

I actually didn't hear about it until I was browsing IMDB. I came across the title, never heard of it before. Being a rabid Matrix fan, I immediately went in search of a download for it. I found it easily by just visiting their webpage.

The story is pretty brief. It's basically a side story of two side characters from the film moving on a side mission.

One great part about the film is that it's ran by experienced film makers (small or not). They got to do some work with the wires as well as a few special effects here and there. They obviously put loads of time working on this. They even filmed it in the same city of the first Matrix. Check out the site fanimatrix.net for more details on the making of. There's so much to it.

Don't watch it expecting a clone of The Matrix. Watch it expecting something new, but in the same style of the originals. Enjoy!

Absolutely Terrific!

This little fan tribute to The Matrix rocks! I wasn't expecting it to be *this* good! Saw the original theatre release starring Moss, Fishburne & Reeves when it came out in 1998 and became a massive fan and honestly, if you'd told me this was some kind of professionally made demo/pilot video made to promote the idea to studios I would have totally believed it, it's that well made. For the first minute, you're tempted to think "oh this is going to be cute", but soon enough, I was totally drawn into the story. The choreography, the special FX, the direction, cinematography and production are all top notch and the result is waaay more convincing than it has a right to be considering it was made for just $900 ($500 of which went to the leather jacket apparently). There are moments when you really think you're watching the actual Matrix film. Very impressive!

Pretty good for a fan film

Watching this in 2022 is pretty nostalgic and feels good.

Nice to see how fast times goes by. This is the oldest film shared using torrent protocol that still being shared.

The film lacks context if you don't know Matrix tho.

The Greatest Matrix Fan Short Film Ever!
X3nX3r07 August 2004
I have been a Matrix fan for a long time. I have also been a Forum Admin on one of the Internet's biggest Matrix fan websites and I have actively participated in many online forums and discussions regarding the Matrix. I just needed to say something about this short film and correct some of the comments made earlier about this.

Firstly, this short film was not made in Australia! It was made in Auckland (my home town) New Zealand by many talented NZ'ers - movie makers, Martial Artists/Actors/Actresses and IT people (some of whom I am friends with and have worked with).

It is a great opportunity to see the wealth of talent we have in this little country of ours and more than anything else, it is a tribute to one of the greatest Hacker/Cyber Punk movies ever made: The Matrix.

I hope this helps to clear things up a bit. I wouldn't want to spoil anyone's experience of it, so I wont comment on the material, just believe me when I say that IT ROCKS and if you're any kind of Matrix fan - YOU should own this and watch it!! Its the best you will ever find out there...

Peace Out from Auck, NZ.
