Just when it looked like the good folks of The Flash were getting a momentary reprieve from Earth-Two drama — easy laughter! a home-cooked meal! at least six sets of googly eyes! — holy hell rained down like pretty birds flying into the side of a skyscraper in the final moments of this week’s episode.

It’s the most uncomfortable type of horror scene, but if done correctly, can pack a gut punch. The violation scene is the moment when the character’s vulnerability is betrayed and our empathy immerses us deeper into their dreadful ordeal. The young child possessed by an evil spirit. The unlucky bystander assaulted in a tunnel. The crazed woman submitting to a creature of non human origin. The violation scene can be emotional or it can be exploitative, but it’s almost always guaranteed to get us talking.

Even though it was one of the originators of German Expressionist film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is often regarded as the pinnacle for the movement. Two of the movement’s basic tenets were distorted lines and shapes and overly theatrical movements from the actors, and both are well on display in this creepy scene.

Yes, yes, Game of Thrones is all about climbing to power and ruling the land. You play or you die. Power resides only where men believe it resides. Yadda yadda.
But here’s a salient question: After watching what happens to khaleesi/mhysa/queen Daenerys in this week’s episode, for the love of the old gods and the new, who would want such an insane responsibility?

If I had the chance to sit down and have dinner with a character from HBO’s Game of Thrones, I don’t know if Jon Snow would be anywhere near the top of my list (although he’d definitely be above Cersei—she’d totally poison everything). However, after seeing the entertaining results from his guest appearance at dinner on last night’s Late Night With Seth Meyers, I may have to reconsider my top choices. Maybe Jon would be a lot of fun. Although, when I say “fun,” I don’t exactly mean lively or cheerful. As you can see for yourself in the video below, when Seth brings Jon Snow (the actual character, not the actor who plays him, Game of Thrones Kit Harrington) to a dinner party and tries to help him make friends, things don’t go especially well, especially when Jon gets talking about his family (his dead father,...

It’s almost five years to the day that Seth Rogen last hosted “Saturday Night Live.” (Somewhat amusingly, his “Neighbors” co-star Zac Efron hosted the very next week.) Meanwhile, over the last five episodes, “SNL” itself has survived a rather rocky start to the post-Seth Meyers Era with a string of solid albeit non-classic episodes after the Jim Parsons-hosted debacle. Heading into its final break of the season, it will be interesting to see if the show ends on an upswing or downswing heading into the final stretch of this flawed yet fascinating season. As always, I’ll be liveblogging, assigning grades to each segment. As always, those grades are designed in a lab to make the maximum number of people on the internet angry. They couldn’t possibly be an inherently imperfect way for one person to sum up his or her thoughts about a sketch comedy show in real time.

Actually, these photos and preview of next week's Episode 2.06 of "Hannibal," entitled "Futamono," don't show much, but NBC's synopsis reveals something rather spoilery. So skim through the text if you want to avoid it and focus on the eye candy.
"Hannibal" Episode 2.06 - "Futamono" (airs 3/28/14; 10-11Pm): Suspicions Rise About Hannibal When He Throws A Dinner Party While The Chesapeake Ripper Is On A Killing Spree - When a city councilman’s body is found in a parking lot, intertwined with a tree, the artistry and missing organs suggest the work of the Chesapeake Ripper.
Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and the team race against time to catch the Ripper while he’s still on his killing spree. When Will (Hugh Dancy) suggests the possibility that the Ripper is filling his pantry with the victims’ organs, Jack crashes Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) dinner party to collect evidence and test the meat for human DNA.

So I’m not really in the mood to be wining and dining with Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) after the ending of last week’s “Hannibal,” but it appears Alana (Caroline Dhavernas), happy in her ignorance on the issue, will have no problem doing just that, in these new stills released from episode 2.06, titled “Futamono.” Elsewhere, the Chesapeake Ripper has left another artful crime scene for Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and his cohorts (now one short, grumble grumble) to puzzle over, and Anna Chlumsky returns to reveal another shocker about Jack’s old, thought-dead protege. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ star on Feb. 6, prior to her storming the runway for the Red Dress Collection 2014 show in NYC during Fashion Week.
When HollywoodLife.com asked Taryn Manning about The Red Dress Collection 2014 and what she loved most about her look for the show, she didn’t hesitate to tell us all about it! “I love the color Red,” she told us. “It’s a power color. And the perfect color to bring awareness to this crisis women are facing, in ever growing numbers.”
We love Taryn on the show, because she plays a very complicated — and far less glam than she is in real life — character. Taryn told us that playing an ordinary character is “very liberating” and “a true test of taming the ego,” calling it “a beautiful experience for my soul.”

Best known for serving as inspiration for The Shining, and its fictional Overlook Hotel, Colorado's Stanley Hotel made the news back in October of this year when the owners of the allegedly haunted building announced plans to dig up and relocate the on-premises pet cemetery, which naturally upset and terrified many. The Stanley Hotel is once again in the news this week, though this time around we've got a much happier story to report!
A huge fan of The Shining, writer R.J. Cavender is on a quest to help other writers get inspiration from the Stanley Hotel the same way that Stephen King did back in the 70s, putting together and hosting a five-day writer's retreat at the iconic locale. The retreat is set for October of next year, with several different packages available for writers that include daily critique groups, nightly dinners and even tours of the infamous...
