Well-done "slice of life" film, but not for everyone
elepsis22 March 2005
Some people who watch this movie will probably find that it puts them to sleep. Others will enjoy watching it for the interaction between the characters and the casual moments that show growth in each of their personalities.

That really seems to be the norm in a movie like this. Promenade focuses on the lives of four friends who have been in a band since their college days. Now aged and more experienced, they all find themselves lacking something in their lives. Over the period leading up to one of their free annual concerts they all learn a few lessons about life.

...And really, that's it. That's the whole plot of the movie. Sure, there are nuances: the lead of the movie finds himself coming to understand his father, helped by his new employee; another band member finds happiness by re-evaluating his desires.

Action blockbuster it's not. But if you like movies in which nothing really happens, you might like this one, too. I know I did.
