"Sports Oddities" is a short featurette shown in theaters with MGM feature films in 1949. Pete Smith was the narrator of this and many others of these shorts. These old time theater fillers were interesting and sometimes quite funny. This one has some unusual and comedy performers in a few sports. It includes a trio of acrobatic ice skaters - the Hupp Trio. Buddy Bomar showed some comedic and tricky bowling. A surfboarder takes to the waves with his 18-month old daughter riding the board. And a comedian demonstrates how not to dive from the high board.
