For a long time, there’s been claims that this generation is so sensitive and you have to be careful about what you say or it might be taken out of context.
This especially rings through when you consider that a lot of celebrities have had to apologize, explain or even, in extreme cases, retract their statements because it was not received in good taste by the fans. For example, Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-hero’ music video was criticized for being fatphobic, so much so, she cut the scene exciting all the backlash.
In the same way, Whoopi Goldberg thinks woke culture has not only affected ‘The View,’ but warped it from what it used to be. Here’s what she has to say.

Although there‘s been a shift in how TV viewership is counted, in 2024, Nielsen’s Live+Same Day tracking still remains the best indicator of the overall audience for daytime programming.
Unlike several primetime and streaming shows, daytime programs don’t typically see much growth in terms of delayed viewing beyond the initial sample we report each week. That said, daytime dramas, in particular, do perform well on streaming, although those viewing figures remain unavailable to the public/press.
During the week of May 6-10, 2024, “General Hospital” was below the two million viewer mark, averaging just 1.876 million viewers. This marked the fourth consecutive week where the show was below two million viewers and the 10th time overall this season it has been below that number. Additionally, for the second consecutive week, the show hit a new season low among Total Viewers. It was also the fifth consecutive week in which...

Robert De Niro had a few choice words for former President Donald Trump on this morning’s episode of The View. The actor was censored a total of four times for his language used to describe the “vicious” Republican candidate. De Niro has never been afraid of being vocal about his dislike for the former Potus. When The View hosts began to discuss the upcoming presidential election, the actor did not hold back, comparing Trump to the likes of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. “I don’t understand why people are not taking him seriously. You read about it historically in other countries that they didn’t take people seriously — Hitler, Mussolini,” De Niro said. “Who does not think that this guy is not gonna do exactly what he says he’s gonna do? He’s done it already.” ABC As the conversation continued, he turned...

In a much-needed break from political topics, Whoopi Goldberg introduced a fun topic about “murder houses” on The View.
The constant heavy talk during an election year is tiring for viewers and hosts alike, so an offbeat theme that people can laugh at helps.
Whoopi Goldberg shared a story about a gentleman who bought a house for a steep discount where a murder took place and what happened when his wife found out.
Sara Haines had a suggestion that had the ladies on the show howling with laughter, and the fans couldn’t stay quiet about it either.
Usually, Joy Behar and Whoopi are the funny ladies on The View, constantly quipping jokes, but it seemed that Sara stole the show.
Joy Behar once had to be reminded that “murder is wrong” by a fellow co-host, but the “murder house” topic did not need that same disclaimer.

Kelly Clarkson looks and feels amazing. But with so much discussion around celebrities taking the diabetes drug Ozempic to aid in weight loss, it seems that any time someone makes a lifestyle change, people assume they’re taking the medication. In late April, Barbra Streisand made headlines when she commented on actor Melissa McCarthy’s Instagram photo asking if she lost weight with Ozempic — it’s become the norm to question it.
Pop icon Kelly Clarkson recently appeared on The View, where she made sure to let people know she is not one of the celebs on the weight loss drug.

Whoopi Goldberg was the latest guest on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” on Max and was asked about what it’s been like co-hosting ABC’s “The View” for the last 17 years. The Egot winner joined the daytime franchise in 2007. Asked by Wallace if she still likes hosting the program, Goldberg acknowledged that it was a better gig back in the day when people did not automatically weaponize everything she said.
“I liked it better before because there was not … people didn’t didn’t assume that you were starting out to be nasty or horrible or saying stuff,” Goldberg said. “You used to say something and somebody would say, ‘Well, actually, that’s not so.’ And you could make that adjustment. Or you could say, ‘Well, here’s what … this is why I thought about it this way.’ You can’t do that anymore. Nobody wants to hear what you were thinking.

Things got a bit steamy on The View recently when Sunny Hostin shared excerpts of her newest book, Summer on Highland Beach, with the ladies.
The ladies had all been laughing and joking just before Sunny asked Joy Behar to read some of the “sexy parts” of her newest book.
This book, coming out May 28, is the third of Sunny’s Sag Harbor series, and Sunny has been busy promoting it since Christmas.
In this hot political season, it is good for the ladies to take a break and talk about other issues, even if they are a bit hot and steamy.
Whoopi Goldberg started the segment asking about sexy books and shared an article from the New York Post that said reading erotica is more effective than watching it.
She asked Joy what she thought; it was the perfect segue for Sunny to ask her to read from her newest book.

Hostin, who has a background as a prosecutor, attended the trial on Thursday and shared her findings with her cohosts on Friday morning — with some interesting views about the matter. After offering her thoughts on what it was like seeing him in person for the first time — “I didn’t realize he was that orange,” she said in all seriousness, adding that it was a “shocking” shade — she went on to critique his behavior. “Let me set the stage because I think people that haven’t been in the courtroom don’t understand the gravity of it… You’ve got this very large courtroom — it’s an older courtroom. The long-time comedian and TV personality managed to get through the first passage relatively unscathed. Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) would not commit to accepting the outcome of the 2024 presidential election in a new interview. The South Carolina senator is on former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential shortlist.
On Sunday, Meet the Press host Kristen Welker asked Scott, “You voted to certify the election results of 2020. It’s the opposite of what you said and did after 2020. Why would you want to be on a ticket with someone where there’s such a fundamental difference?”
“There is clear facts here,” Scott replied. “President Trump himself said he expects this election to be fair. He expects it to be honest. And he expects to win. That’s what the presidential candidate should expect. And I expect the exact same thing. And frankly, the American people agree with him. This is an issue that is not an issue. So I’m not going to make it an issue.

The hosts of The View had no sympathy for Donald Trump over his complaints about being under a gag order. In fact, their fiery discussion of the matter led to a full-throated discussion of which prisons certain cohosts want to see him sent to. “He was out there whining outside — he is such a snowflake!” Whoopi Goldberg said while introducing the segment. She went on to mock Trump, groaning, “‘Oh my gosh, they’re so mean to me!'” before continuing. “He was whining outside the courtroom yesterday about the judge threatening to throw him in the clink if he keeps violating the gag order. See, when they give you a gag order, they’re ordering you to shut up! And because that’s what they’re ordering ...

Kim Godwin hoped to build ABC News’ future by cutting out some of its past.
Tasked, ostensibly, with shaking up a culture of the Disney-backed news organization that pit anchors against one another and led to claims of intolerable behavior behind the scenes, Godwin was supposed to revamp a storied journalism hub without losing any of the impetus that spurred employees to make shows such as “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America” the most-watched in their category.
But the ABC News president, who was still working Monday after sending out a letter Sunday announcing her retirement following a shaky three-year reign, lost the support of much of the news operation by installing an array of senior executives who proved difficult to work with, while ousting veterans who had the respect of their colleagues. She also moved slowly, often taking weeks to make important decisions about programming and personnel, according...

Netflix’s star-studded roast of Tom Brady titled The Greatest Roast of All-Time: Tom Brady, might’ve earned a lot of laughs when it aired Sunday night, but by Monday morning, the cohosts of The View had nothing but jeers for the special. Ana Navarro in particular was fit to be tied about the fact that Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bündchen was the subject of so many shots from the stage. After moderator Whoopi Goldberg noted that Brady was a “good sport” throughout the program, Navarro took issue with that assessment. “If I was getting paid what he was probably getting paid — he was an executive producer — I’d laugh at all sorts of things. But I think the person who wasn’t getting paid and ended up being part of this roast was Gisele,” Navarro said before noting a recent incident in which Bündchen was in tears during a...

We don't talk enough about the healing powers of humor. The old saying, "laughter is the best medicine," as cliché as it may be, actually has a lot of truth to it. I learned about the power of laughter at a relatively young age.

Kim Godwin, the ABC News president who was the first Black woman to run a broadcast network news operation, is leaving the Disney unit amid increasing concern about the way she was managing the home of shows like “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight.”
Godwin told staffers in a memo Sunday that she planned to “retire from broadcast journalism.” Her command had come under increasing scrutiny since a restructuring of ABC News and Disney’s ABC stations had her reporting directly to Debra OConnell, a Disney business veteran who is seen as a valued operator at the company. OConnell will lead ABC News for the foreseeable future, she told employees Sunday evening.
A Disney spokesperson declined to make executives available for additional comment or to respond to a query about what changes Godwin’s exit might mean for the executive’s immediate direct reports or the management of individual ABC News programs.

But do they have the right to peacefully protest about ending violence?
