Kahin to Milegi...
BiswajitSince200528 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
No, please don't confuse this with the one with Nutan and Sunil Dutt. This is from the house of Mahesh Bhatt with Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala. A nice movie with nice story and background score. The song "Kahin to Milegi..." still skips the heart a bit when heard. Nice direction and acting by lead pairs, the movie went wrong somewhere for which it didn't appeal to the masses. This is one among the finest performances of Manisha Koirala till date.

Raja (Jackie Shroff) is a smuggler and has a sweetheart called Priya (Manisha Koirala). Priya doesn't like her profession and asks him to surrender with the belief that he will get away soon from Jail and they can live happily ever after. Raja surrenders to the police only to be convicted of a murder he hasn't committed. He is sent to Jail where he is harassed further by the corrupt police officers.

Outside the Jail, Priya is harassed by Raja's old colleagues in crime and the corrupt police officers. Now Raja has to come out of the Jail to rescue Priya from them and also to find out the person responsible for his conviction. Now will the officials let him go that easily?

Love Story of a 'Bad Boy' Smuggler & a Decent 'Church Girl'
r_mantra_r14 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
'Milan' encapsulates the love story of the 'bad boy' type character 'Raja' (played by Jackie Shroff) & God fearing, honest & loyal 'Priya' (played by Manisha Koirala).

Through his life of crime, Raja eventually gets framed & spends most of his life being jailed for the murder of a female acquaintance 'Jaya' (played by Sudha Chandran) who he tries to assist in finding work by referring her to his wealthy brother (played by Akash Khurana) who unknowing to him uses drugs in carrying out sexually deviant & psychopathic acts on women.

Admist Raja being persuaded by his lover Priya, in wanting to leave a life of crime with friend 'Kevin Khekra' (played by Gulshan Grover) & earn a honest living with aspirations of building a house for them to settle into after they are married, the tragic love story unfolds along the plot of 'Milan' as Priya painstakingly awaits the return of her beloved's return from jail.

The villains in the film are Inspector Kotak (a corrupted, psychopathic cop played by Paresh Rawal) and Raja's partner in crime Kevin Khekra (played by Gulshan Grover) both of which are well played.

Both plot and direction by Mukesh & Robin Bhatt are decent and the shoot location (a village near the beach with gorgeous sunsets and boats) adds to the uniqueness and overall ambiance of the film.

Lyrics by Sameer are perfectly suited on each recording of the soundtrack.

The opening sequence of the film is quite nostalgic as it features the hit song 'Kahin To Milegi Mohabbat Ki Manzil' sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya which continues to remain one of my most memorable & golden 90's Bollywood songs which was released in 1995.

Music & Soundtrack by Anand-Milind is superb featuring more melody packed golden 90's hits namely the beautiful romantic number 'Ek Baat Bataoon' sung by Kumar Sanu & Sadhna Sargam, the emotionally charged ghazal type composition 'Aansoo Joodai Ka' sung by 'Pankaj Udhas & Sadhna Sargam' as well as the film's second romantic hit 'Aa Jaana' sung by Abhijeet & Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Some of the male vocalists used in the soundtrack were not best suited on screen to Jackie Shroff's outlook, however this is easily overlooked with the solid musical compositions & soundtrack.

A 90's musical love story/thriller with a good cast that you won't be disappointed in checking out if you love 90's Bollywood films.
