It was back in June of last year that we learned HBO Max had pulled the plug on the Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi series “Raised by Wolves,” cancelling the show after just two seasons. The series was subsequently pulled from HBO Max entirely, with promised plans to license the series (and others) to third-party free ad-supported streaming television (Fast) channels.
Making good on that promise, Bloody Disgusting has learned that “Raised by Wolves” has now found a new home at The Roku Channel, alongside HBO Max’s “Westworld.”

Many of the shows that have been dropped from HBO Max streaming are now on the 13 new WB-themed Roku channels, the streaming hardware and software maker announced on Tuesday. WB TV Watchlist will now be home to sci-series “Westworld” and “Raised by Wolves” as well as “La Femme Nikita.”
HBO Max revealed in December that they would be licensing shows including “Westworld” to third-party Fast services. Roku has its own Fast service, the Roku Channel, and hosts third-party channels through a channel store.

Warner Bros Discovery has finally nailed down plans to go the Fast route. Last year — in between an intense bout of cancellations and titles being pulled from their streaming home on HBO Max — the company announced plans to explore a free ad-supported television option (Fast). During the company's third-quarter earnings call, Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav made a point of saying that there's "a huge amount of content that's not even on [HBO Max/Discovery+] that's sitting with us that hasn't been put to monetize in the marketplace." In the spirit of cashing in, a new plan has been enacted. Over the next few months, 14 Warner Bros. branded Fast channels will arrive on Roku and Tubi.

The Accidental Getaway Driver is one those rare, where-did-this-come-from films that every so often pops up to invigorate festivals and adventurous viewers on the lookout for something fresh and different. Generically, this is nothing new, a low-down gritty crime drama populated by cars, guns and desperate characters. But the movie, which premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival, benefits considerably from being set in the rarely, if ever, filmed Little Saigon section of Orange County south of Los Angeles; a highly unlikely cast dominated by an octogenarian not looking for trouble; and, crucially, a noirish nocturnal milieu that injects the action with dread, even with a final stretch doesn’t really pay off with the kind of tension you expect from a crime drama. However, despite its lack of an exciting climax, this is a film that draws you in and offers sufficient satisfactions to...

Pacho Velez’s breakthrough documentary “Manakamana,” which he co-directed, consists entirely of people (and goats) riding a cable car up and down a Nepalese mountain. So while he might not seem like the most natural candidate to make a light-hearted documentary about internet dating, “Searchers” dismantles that dumb assumption from its very first shot. Velez is fascinated by how people perform the idea of themselves, whether they’re crammed into a gondola suspended hundreds of feet above a wild valley or swiping through Tinder on their bed in Brooklyn.
By focusing his camera on the faces of 30 (or so) app users as they peruse the digital meat market and reflect on their perfect match, Velez allows their phones to become as much of a looking glass as they are a portal. The result of his little experiment is that flirts with modern ironies and asks timeless questions (“u up?”) in...

Here we are, at the top of the mountain. We’ve had plenty from every war imaginable, some supportive of war efforts, some not. But the more interesting war films really focus on the people; the internal struggles those men and women have about what they are doing. Whether made in America, Germany, the United Kingdom, or anywhere else, war is not just a battle between good and evil. It’s a life and death struggle between opposing sides that may not be that different. The movies at the top of this list may be subtle or straightforward, but each of them is a clear snapshot that lets audiences see what it means to fight, so they don’t have to.

Almost all of us are guilty of occasionally flipping through a magazine and absentmindedly checking out photos of a celebrity with their kids. Readers might not spend a lot of time thinking about it — but Dax Shepard wants you to start.
The actor, who’s married to Kristen Bell and welcomed a daughter this year, wrote an essay for The Huffington Post, “Why Our Children Should Be Off Limits to the Paparazzi.” In the piece, Shepard explains he recently was at an event hosted by Jennifer Garner about California Senate Bill 606, which makes it illegal “to photograph a child because...

The line-up of films premiering at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival has been released, and there are a lot of good movies, one of which includes The Raid 2, which I am incredibly excited to see! It's easily my most anticipated film at the festival.
The Sundance Film Festival takes place from January 16th to the 26th in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah. From the press release:
John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival, said, “The Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival feature new work from many established independent filmmakers who began their careers at our Festival years ago, which allows us to reflect on the impact, legacy and growth of the independent film movement over the past 30 years.”
Trevor Groth, Director of Programming for the Sundance Film Festival, said, “In many of the films selected for our 2014 Sundance Film Festival, we see fascinating characters and subjects throughout.

The Sundance Film Festival announced the titles selected to screen in its out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections. Last year, the movies that were launched in these categories — which typically highlight filmmakers who’ve appeared at Sundance before — included Before Midnight, Don Jon, and The Way Way Back; this year appears to be just as promising. In Lynn Shelton’s Laggies, a young woman stuck in arrested-development (Keira Knightley) has her life upended by an unexpected marriage proposal. In David Wain’s They Came Together — surely, a naughty pun, yes? — Wet Hot American Summer alums Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd...

No Justin on the stereo?! According to an Exclusive report from HollywoodLife, partygoers were denied the opportunity to dance to any Bieber jams, and that the ban came directly from Selena Gomez! Keep reading for all the juicy details.
Looks like Selena Gomez Really doesn’t want to think about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Or she just doesn’t want to listen to his music.
Selena Gomez: Justin Bieber Songs Are ‘Off Limits’
At the after party for the Los Angeles premiere of Spring Breakers on Mar. 14, the DJ had an order from Selena and her crew to avoid all Justin songs, at all costs. Wayne Blair's musical drama about a group of Australian Aboriginal singers who perform for GIs in Vietnam is a sweet 'n' dumb feelgood bopper
Australian director Wayne Blair's based-on-real-life musical drama sees the McCrae family – a group of Australian Aboriginal singers known as the Cummeragunja Song Birds – hoisted from the outback and refashioned as kick-ass soul band, the Sapphires, to perform for GIs in Vietnam circa 1968.
Heading for Saigon are frosty older sis Gail (Deborah Mailman), feisty sexpot Cynthia (Miranda Tapsell), cousin Kay (Shari Sebbens) – a stolen aborigine returned to the family fold to supply backing vox – and front woman Julie (Australian Idol star Jessica Mauboy). They get their big break via talent scout Dave Lovelace (Chris O'Dowd) – a white, Irish, self-proclaimed "soul brother" with the gift of the gab and a taste for the booze. He's the girls' ticket to Holiday Camp Vietnam, where there's soul food on the grill,...

If you thought Miranda Lambert would go all warm and fuzzy after marrying Blake Shelton, think again. Known for using men for target practice on songs like "Gunpowder & Lead" and "White Liar," she takes aim again on "Baggage Claim," the first single off her fab fourth album. "At the baggage claim, you got a lot of luggage in your name/ And when you hit the ground, check the lost and found/ 'Cause it ain't my problem now," she snarls, inflamed by a nasty guitar riff. She continues her affection for firearms on the rebel-chick rocker "Fastest Girl in Town." Related:...

As many leggy European beauties have learned the hard way, George Clooney is an eternal bachelor. Off limits. Emotionally unavailable. He’s basically everything you wouldn’t want in a husband, minus the ridiculous good looks, undeniable talent, humanitarian interests, money, and charm.

This is what makes Norwegian bank Dnb Nor’s commercial so dang funny, yet utterly infuriating at the same time. A newly wed woman wakes up in a beautiful white room with a giant rock...

The Music Room (Criterion) Satyajit Ray’s 1958 masterpiece looks at the life of a fallen aristocrat as a metaphor for an India that is not only becoming Westernized, but modernized technologically and culturally beyond recognition. When the beloved music room, where he has hosted lavish concerts in the past, starts falling into disrepair as attendance drops steadily, the man realizes his way of life is vanishing. Stunningly shot in black & white, one of Ray’s finest works. Bonuses: Documentary on Ray from 1984 by Shyam Benegal; Interviews with Ray biographer Andrew Robinson and filmmaker Mira Nair; Excerpt from 1981 roundtable discussion between Ray, critic Michael Ciment, director Claude Sautet. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Full screen. Dolby 1.0 mono.
Beauty And The Beast (Criterion) Jean Cocteau’s sublime adaptation of the classic fairy tale become a beloved classic upon its 1946 release, and hasn’t faded since.

Shout! Factory once again is giving us a double feature DVD, one a blaxploitation film set in New York City and the other a gritty noir-flavored film set in Saigon during the Vietnam War. Both have the connection to the war itself. And I’ll be the first to say that they are both worth your time, forgotten gems that have never seen the light of a DVD release until now.
Ossie Davis directs Gordon’s War, actor and director who made what I consider the finest blaxploitation film around (Cotton Comes To Harlem) and he does wonders with a tried and through plot consisting of a man on a mission of revenge against those who wronged the people of his neighborhood in the mode of good ol’ 70′s vigilante justice. Gordon Hudson (Paul Winfield) comes home from the Vietnam War where he finds out that his wife has died from a heroin overdose.

The Films:
Shout! Factory releases these two Vietnam-themed action films together in their latest Action-Packed Double Feature, where these two films are worthy of Killer Film‘s Action Packed Flashback label.
In Gordon’s War, seems like a tried-and-true example of the blaxploitation genre, with its Harlem setting, drugs and pimps centric story, but it eliminates the funky sounds in its score, as it’s a largely quite, gritty Death Wish clone. But let’s not be too harsh on it for aping the Charles Bronson classic, since the film is one of the grittier 70s blaxploitation films.
Paul Winfield stars as Gordon, a decent man coming home from the Vietnam War only to find his sister dead thanks to the lowlife pushers and Mafia dealers in the neighborhood. Teaming with his retired Green Beret buddies, Gordon seeks to end the corruption in his city. For all of the elements...

"Weeds" returns tonight and I've seen most of the first season of that show but not much beyond that. I know that Nancy is one of those characters on TV that people love to hate since her chosen profession keeps driving her and her family further down the road of reprehensible behavior yet they like to maintain some sort of air of superiority. Or at least that was the last I'd heard of the whole mess, has it changed any? Those of you still watching, are you just watching because you find Mary-Louise Parker kind of dreamy? Are you in the habit of mistaking Justin Kirk for the guy who played Sheriff Don Lamb in "Veronica Mars" and thus watching "Weeds" out of misguided loyalty? (I'm not telling you how long it took me to realize they weren't the same guy. Nope.) In any case, please feel free to discuss.

Good new, everybody! Well, maybe not for everybody but for some of you anyway! Misery night has returned! Yes, now you can spend your summer evenings watching hoarders and addicts fight with their families, tell heartbreaking stories of abandonment and abuse, frustratingly resist help, and finally show some small amount of progress such that you get your hopes up for them before finally realizing that most of these people will backslide within a month or two. Aren't you thrilled!?! Platoon (2 Disc Blu-Ray/DVD Combo)MGM Home Entertainment1986/120 mins/Rated RList Price: $29.99 – Available May 24, 2011Fresh off the critical success of Salvador, Oliver Stone finally broke into the mainstream with Platoon , his impression of the Vietnam War, taken from when he observed it first-hand as a grunt. Stone uses an innocent, middle-class, college drop-out, who volunteers to join an infantry unit for patriotic reasons, Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen), to be his alter ego. As the narrator and letter writer to his grandmother, which allows us to hear his personal reactions to what is happening, it is through Taylor's eyes that we see the savagery of the war. The first thing the young man sees as his transport plane lands in Vietnam in 1967, are all the body bags and the disheartened looks of the soldiers leaving to go back home. His unit will be somewhere near the Cambodian border where just existing...

There's an interesting situation on late night TV tonight that I can't recall ever seeing before; the same actor is on two shows in one night. Jada Pinkett Smith, who must be promoting her show "Hawthorne" although for the love of god I couldn't tell you why, is on both "Jimmy Fallon" and "Chelsea Lately." As a reasonable person who understands how TV works, I know that all of this is pre-taped and that means that one actor can appear on two shows in one night without somehow conquering the time-space continuum, but I also thought that actors had people to make sure that shit like that didn't happen. Either I was wrong or having a leading role on a TNT series about a take-no-shit nurse with commitment issues just doesn't pay enough for a top shelf publicist. Here's your Monday night TV:

Odds are the answer is a resounding, “Maybe?”

Last night one of you lovely readers out there caught a proofreading mistake I'd made in the column and pointed it out. Now, it's not unusual that I make slight spelling or grammar mistakes so I want all of you to know that please, feel free to let me know if you catch one. You can mention it in the comments or email me because I'm terrible at proofreading things I've written and am happy to fix them if they're really irking you. Most of the time. I've found that some of my spelling mistakes end up making things more amusing for all of us so some of them I just leave alone even if I know they're there. So, with that said, here's your Monday night TV:

Tonight is the season finale of "House" which is a show that I have a troubled relationship with. The first couple seasons I was completely on board and then it became increasingly obvious that rather that the writers had absolutely no intention of having the House character grow or suffer any real consequences for his actions. There was that awful story line with the cop who had it in for him (Tritter?) but that more punished the people around him and rather than abandoning his selfish, destructive ass to the real world, they just gathered the wagons around him tighter. After that I watched less and less as his actions became less and less defensible. I'll drop in for an episode every now or again but more often than not just find myself staring at my TV going "Really?" I'll be tuning in tonight but I doubt I'll find my opinion changed much.

The beginning of the endings has come on, with many shows having their season finales tonight and many more coming in the next few weeks. Some will hang on into June, but not many, and then we will face summer which does have a couple interesting prospects (I'm intrigued by "Wilfred" and curious if not hopeful about "Franklin and Bash") but mostly a series of shows that weren't worth putting in direct competition with shows who have a solid audience. So prepare now, load up your Netflix lists or shop for DVDs, maybe find a hobby or two to take you out of the house a couple evenings out of the week, or just resolve to sit around and pout. Up to you. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "90210" on The CW. Third season finale.
"Antiques Roadshow" on PBS
"Chuck" on NBC. Fourth season finale. Next season will be the final season which is,...

Four new clips from a new horror movie "Insidious" have been revealed. One footage features Patrick Wilson's Josh and Rose Byrne's Renai coming to the rescue of their son Dalton when he suddenly screams from the attic of their house. Another clip gives a look at Renai crying by the side of Dalton's hospital bed. Her devastated feeling is soon replaced by horrified one when she finds a clawed hand-print under his blanket.
There is also a clip of Josh and Renai seeking alternative help from someone other than the doctor. "Your son isn't in coma," so they are told. "Falling off the ladder had nothing to do with it. His physical body is here, but his spiritual body is not. And ... it's not the house that's haunted, it's your son."
Finds out what Josh and Renai do to help bring back Dalton when the horror movie arrives in U.
