Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Some sexual dialogue throughout.

Valmot walks in on his servant and a maid having sex. The servant flees, taking his bedsheet with him, revealing the maid, fully nude (only breasts and butt are shown). She offers herself to Valmont, but he refuses.

We see Cecile's bare breasts as she undresses for Valmont, he is then seen caressing and kissing her chest and it is implied that they had sex.

We see Valmont lying nude, face down on a bed as Cecile writes a letter on his back.

We see Valmont and Madame de Tourvel having sex, but they are only shown from the neck-up with associated kissing/panting.

Violence & Gore

A man shoots a rifle at a rabbit, but it darts away

Two men are seen dueling with swords outside in the snow with some bloody scrapes on their arms, one of them is eventually stabbed and dies (we see blood running from his mouth).

Profanity

Brief mild language, words like "Damn" and "Bitch"

None

In one scene, a man tells a woman he has to break off their affair, which upsets her greatly to the point of hysterics. She is later shown in bed, deceased from a broken heart.
